Cold and wet. That was all Rosalie could remember about the day she escaped her father. She had been locked up in the basement for months before her father forgot to lock her chains up. He hated her. He hated the curse she was born with. Everyday Rosalie tried to understand why he fought so hard for custody of her, he clearly didn't like her, never had and never would. He despised the fact that she was different, the fact that she was a witch, he believed he could torture the magic out of her. Oh how wrong he was. Rosalie had secretly been conversing with another witch, who she doesn't know. One day something in her magic changed and she could hear a voice calling out, not to her, but to a woman called 'grams'. After clearing up the confusion, the witch on the other side asked who she was. "Who are you? I'm sorry I was just trying to reach out to my grams, she passed recently and was the only one who knew how to help me with my 'witchyness'." The voice questioned. "I'm Rosalie, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, I'm even more sorry that you connected to me and not her, I do apologise." Rosalie responded genuinely feeling a little sorry for the woman. "I'm Bonnie, thank you her death was sudden and shook me a little so my magic is going haywire, I do apologise for disturbing you." Bonnie replied. "No worries, it's honestly okay. I hope you contact her soon." Rosalie responded sincerely. You see Rosalie's dad beloved that the longer he kept her chained up and away from civilisation, the weaker her magic wouldn't got, clearly that didn't happen. That conversation with a fellow which gave Rosalie enough courage to try and free herself, she believed her magic was getting weaker as she had no chance to use it, so that conversation with Bonnie just reminded her that her magic was still strong. Now she just had to find a way to escape.

-WHACK-
"You are a disgrace and a disappointment to this blood line, with your abnormalities and freakiness. I should've left you with your mother, you are no daughter of mine until you rid yourself of that evil." Rosalie's father slurred. He was always like this, especially worse if he had a drink. The abuse was worse when he was drunk, it just didn't last as long because he would pass out sooner or later. Storming off her father forgot to do one thing, lock that chains around her hands. You see, to see if her magic was weakening, Rosalie's father would make her perform spells, meaning her hands needed to be freed. Usually he was strict about locking her up once his experiment was over with. However tonight he was very drunk and completely forgot. Ten minutes after her father had left the room and she was sure he had gone to bed, Rosalie began her escape. Using her magic she unlocked the basement door, using her magic to open the door as quiet as she can. Once accomplished she had to sneak up the basement stairs and past her dog, Alonso, once successful, Rosalie swung open the front door and ran like her life depended on it. Her life did depend on it. The only problem was Rosalie had no money and live six hundred miles away from her mother in Mystic Falls. Rosalie kept reminding herself, if there's a will there's a way.

Once she reached a gas station, Rosalie frantically began asking passers by to use their phones in order to contact her mother, hoping she hadn't changed her phone number.

-In Mystic Falls-

Liz Forbes, is the sheriff to this quiet town. She lives in a three bedroom home with her daughter Caroline, she always hoped for her other daughter Rosalie to come home, she hasn't touched Rosalie's room since she last visited when she was thirteen. Bill, Rosalie and Caroline's father, phoned Liz recently and told her that Rosalie never wanted to speak to her again, how she knows about the awful things Liz had been saying at her Ex-Husband. That broke Liz. So when her phone started ringing at Two in the morning from an unrecognised number, you can expect that Liz was a bit confused. "Hello, Liz Forbes speaking." Liz said sleep laced in her voice. "Mum" a broke voice responded. Sitting up immediately Liz screeched "Rosalie, is that you baby, are you ok." "Mum can you come get me, I'm outside a gas station on Peachtree road. I'm scared, dads gone crazy, he's had me locked up in the basement for months now trying to 'rid of the evil in my soul' and I don't know how long I have until he wakes up to look for me." Rosalie explains quickly on the verge of tears. Already getting her clothes on and her keys, "I'll be there as soon as I can just wait where you are and if you see your father hide where ever you can, I'll find you." Liz rushes to comfort her. "Ok mum I love you, see you soon." Rosalie ends the phone. "Mum, who was that?" Caroline asks from the top of the stairs, clearly tired. "It was Rosalie, she's escaped your father and wants me to get her. Your sister is coming home." Liz responds with a twinkle in her eyes.
"Oh that, that's cool. I'm glad." Caroline says, with a melancholy tone. "I'll see you later darling." Liz says rushing out the door.

AUTHORS NOTE—
Hello everyone, I just want to make it very clear that I do not own any of the characters in this book aside from Rosalie. On another note please bear with me, I'm only just starting to write again and I'm like severely dyslexic so it will take a while.

Thank you and have a good day/night oxoxoxoox
