I find myself back here...to this "banquet" or a fancy word for dinner. A meeting. A business meeting as Mr. Jones, simple yet believable. The last Friday of every month multi-million-dollar company owners show up to this banquet to pitch deals to each other, business proposals if you will. I don't know why they find these so entertaining, it's truly embarrassing. But I'm not here for that...no. I'm here for you. Look at you standing there with your parents. Your plain black slick dress with that high slit glistening across the ballroom floor, your hair in that beautiful messy bun and that gorgeous body, you know how to make one feel something. Your father, Benjamin Nathanielles, standing tall with a stern expression on his face, eyes wandering...your mother, Sophie Nathanielles beside you, making sure you're ok. Dusting your dress and making you stand taller with your chin up, like she's preparing you for something...but what?
I walk over to the fancy snack table. Smells like heaven. Sweet. Savory. Sweet and savory? You rich people will truly eat anything.
I watch you take a seat in between your parents. Like they're guarding you. Every move you make.
Looking at your sloppy posture. Quite amusing to the eyes...my eyes. Until your mother slaps you back into position. You excuse yourself, walking in my direction...
Turning to the treats on the table, Act cool.
Looking up slightly at you. You give me a cute smile, genuine. Not like anyone else here. You head back to your table, and stuff your mouth with the little treats you took, I can't help but smile at your unbothered self while eating, you never cared if anyone's watching just as long as you have food.
Someone approaches you. Broad shoulders, at least 42 years old. You can tell by the facial hair, shaggy. Blocking my vision of you. Moving slightly to the right, finally being able to see again. Your mother's hand on the man's forearm as your father watches, practically flirting. Disgusting.
Somebody starts talking out of nowhere, the monotone voice going into one ear and out the other, as I watch you pretend to pay attention. Nodding your head after every few sentences, laughing when others laugh. Like you've been trained to. And now I see why rich folks like these things. Ladies. Barely clothed ladies dancing. And men too. Dancing to overly sexualized songs. Pathetic.
Two awful hours go by. I'd think you'd agree this place is getting boring seeing that you're sneaking away from your awful birth givers.
You've always been interested in flowers, thinking they're the most wonderful living organisms. Just strolling through the garden. You have always been oblivious to your surroundings, that needs to change. What if someone kidnaps you? But you do not need to worry about that love, I won't let that happen because I love you, and I care for you. Unlike your parents. You just need to come with me and you'll see it for yourself. No one, and I mean no one can treat you the way I will...once I get my hands on you.
