Y/N POV

Itaewon on a Friday night is basically a video game level designed to break one's spirit. Neon lights, crowds spilling onto the street, music thumping from every direction, and absolutely zero parking. Still, you are determined. You need this night out. After a week of frying chicken at your auntie's restaurant and getting rejected from yet another news outlet job, you deserve one tiny sliver of joy.

And joy, tonight, looks like a parking space.

"Alright," you say, gripping the steering wheel like it owed you money, "start looking for spaces."

From the passenger seat, Mina groans. "Oh, Y/N, you're never gonna find a space in front of Club Rollie."

"Look," you say, already scanning the curb like a hawk, "I have my system. First I look for the dream spot right in front of the door, then I slowly expand out in concentric circles."

"Oh come on, please put it in a garage. I don't want to spend an hour looking for a space."

"I can't park in a garage," you huff, offended she's even suggesting such a thing. "Why should I pay, when if I apply myself, maybe I could get it for free?"

A horn blares behind you.

You whip your head around. "What? What do you want? Go around me, I'm looking for spaces!"

Mina points backward. "Oh, there's a space right there!"

You gasp. "Oh beautiful!" You slam the car into reverse. "Look at that, the dream space right in front of the bar. Huh? Dreams can come true, what did I tell you?"

"You didn't even have to take it out to dinner," Mina mutters.

"Alright," you say, rolling your shoulders back, "now you're gonna see some parallel parking." You spit into your hands and rub them together like a baseball pitcher warming up. "How I wish you could make a living parallel parking. It's all geometry, knowing all the angles, when to make that first turn and then when to swing it back in, that's the key."

"Will you just park it already?"

"There's nothing I can even impart to you," you sigh, backing up with confidence. "That's the sad thing. It's so inborn, I can't pass it on."

You ease the car backward-

And then a black SUV swoops in headfirst toward your space.

"Look at this guy. Are you crazy, what are you doing?!" You shift aggressively into park and roll down your window, craning your neck over your shoulder. "Hey! Hey, you're stealing my space!"

Mina grabs your arm. "Wait, you don't know who this guy is. People kill for a parking space in this city."

But you actually know exactly who he is when you get a glimpse through the windshield of his car.

Tall frame. Built. Ridiculously handsome. And unmistakably familiar.

Kim Taehyung.

First baseman for the Kia Tigers. Poster boy for a handful of the baseball ads in Korea. A man whose face you've seen on commercials, on TV when watching games, and your cousin's bedroom wall.

And he's stealing your parking space.

"No, no, no," you insist, unbuckling your seatbelt with righteous fury. "He's not getting away with this."

You get out of your car, march toward him, and immediately regret it. He's meeting you halfway, dressed in a white Henley shirt, black leather jacket, and dark jeans. His eyebrows are drawn together and his lips are pulled into a thin line. His perfect, pink lips, you might add.
