When life gives you an opportunity to take a break from reality and have a summer vacation with your three amazing friends, its important you say yes.
"Come on, Val!" Lucy yelled before running to her boyfriend Jacob as the waves of the ocean meet the ends of the sand. The whole beach echoed our laughs and the sound of waves like it's singing with us creating a great perfect harmony along with the morning breeze and the perfect light from the sun and the dancing clouds. It was a perfect day. Everything was so perfect.
I smiled and clicked my camera capturing Lucy and Jacob running after Dave. If I run with them, who's gonna take care of our things here? I mean, we are alone in this Manor's island. Yes, Jacob's island. I mean, his family's. Sabi niya ay wala namang plano ang parents niya sa island na 'to, nag hahanap lang sila ng island na pwedeng pag tambakan ng boats nila.
I remember Jacob telling us last week how excited he was to show us his family's new boat. The Màson Boat, the biggest one. He said it with both of his hand spreading in the air like as if the name will magically pop out with glitters and sparkles on it.
No one's taking our things right? I looked around, I see no one other than myself, my three friends, Dave's black jeep wrangler and a small house that has the Màson Boat inside. I shrugged at ibinaba na ang camera ko para sumunod sakanila.
Lucy and Jacob are already making out in the water. Dave's just standing facing in my direction waiting for me. He brushed back his perfect curled hair messing around his forehead. He smiled to me. A small one but something that always gets me. He does that a lot and I could kill someone for him if he'd ask me while smiling like that.
"Come on, Val. We can take pictures later." He said, lifting his hand in the air to offer it to me. I accepted it and held his hand.
I never looked away, so was he.
Dave and I aren't together. But I know, I know, I know, that he likes me as much as I like him. I've known him since we were in 11th grade I know it has been a while lalo na't we're graduationg college in the next few months. My feelings for this guy never changed. I may not know when he started liking me, but it didnt matter as long as he smiles at me like this.
He looked away my smile widened. "I won." I said poking his waist making him move away and chuckle.
"Ang ganda mo kasi."
"Hey guys stop being so cheesy join us here!" At talagang kami pa ang cheesy para kay Lucy ha? Lucy and Jacob had been making out the entire time we weren't joining them.
The rest of the day went along. Wala nang mas hihigit pa sa saya nararamdaman ko pag sila ang kasama ko. It's like we built a secret world where no one else can see us, it's just us and whenever we have somethings to think, to say, to do, we always do it together. It's like I found my soulmates, someone who I can share everything with.
But, how well do we actually know the people we call our soulmates?
"Val! I said come here mag picture tayo!" Lucy called. I didnt noticed it, Lucy and Jacob are already in the sand again. Lucy was fixing her phone in the selfie stand while Jacob hugs Lucy from behind.
Dave and I went to them and we all lined readying ourselves to take a picture.
I made a peace sign while smiling with my teeth as the phone camera's timer clicked.
"Say cheese!"
