Hey to everyone reading this ! I'm so happy my story reached you, I can't believe I'm back to writing on this app after an embarrassing Bakugo ff I wrote when I was eleven (6 years ago holy moly). This story starts in season one and follows until the very last, tho if you're reading this and you haven't seen the show till the end, don't worry it arrives in a while, you can still enjoy a lot of this book in the meantime and get most of the story.
This is a Rick Grimes x OC fanfiction, he is her main love interest but I'm writing this based on another little project of mine. I created her through writing a fictional diary of her life, going through all of the show, not in a romance fic kinda way, so she has other love experiences through her life and has bits of it without even being in Rick's group. For example she starts off as being Shane's fiancée. But this story is still x Rick Grimes so none of these other love interests / ears will be portrayed for long or as very important. I will re invent this story for you guys, but this isn't gonna be just her and Rick every chapter.
I also of course had to change a few things in order to make this work, but the story line stays loyal to the original show. I'm just sorry for my girl Michonne I love you but I kinda had to sacrifice your love life for this one.

A small detail I think you should know : every chapter title is something left behind during the chapter. Referencing both the title of the story « what we leave behind » and the TLOU (the last of us) session called Left Behind. For example, the chapter called « promises » means they left their promises behind.

Before the outbreak : - Shane's fiancée (though this story is not going to portray any of their romance) - Owner of a café where she met Shane, him and Rick used to come here on their daily break - Artist in her free time and for a few side hustles - A little nerdy about plants and medicinal herbs - 27 years old at the very beginning
You can choose to care or not to care about the appearance of the character, it has no real impact on the story, so feel free to picture what you please when she is mentioned.
