The  meadow had a nice warm breeze, grass aiming away from the wind. The flowers were a bright purple and calming white as I stood there, breathing in the air. The meadow was levelled above Republic City, and I loved staring down at the city, it seemed so small up there.

I wondered what it looked like from the sky's point of view, so I hovered my dominant hand over the ground and pulled it over. The earth below me quickly rose up, sling shoting me to the air. Republic City looked so small from up there, the lights glistened like beauty, and the sun bounced off the glass like a little ball.

Joy filled my heart in an unmeasurable amount, it was beautiful! I finally understand what the sky sees when it looks down on-

Thunk!

I felt immense pain on the back of my head as a plummeted down to the ground. I landed on my knees, and when I looked up, I saw a small group of non-benders with rocks in their hands. That's what must've hit me. A man in a white regime was standing in front of the mob.

"H- hey!" I say, pushing myself up from the dirt. "W- what was that for!?"

The man took a step forward. "We just think a child abusing their powers to play is an insult to the non-benders that keep this country running." The group behind him nodded.

"W- wait! I'm just p- practicing my bending! I'm still learning!"

"Well, maybe don't use them like you're better than us!" A woman in the back yelled.

I raised my hands up, below my head. "B- but I'm only eleven! N- no one's better than Avatar Korra!"

"Then maybe you'd be fine with removing your bending abilities, eh?" The man in the front said.

My blood ran cold, I didn't want to lose my connection to nature. My instinct kicked in as a ran the opposite direction from where the mob stood. They started chasing me through the meadow, and I didn't even check where I was running towards.

I skidded to a stop in front of a medium high cliff, and the mob pinned me to the edge. I was terrified, but I was more terrified when the floor under me collapsed.

I held onto the edge with quick hands. But the people watching just watched. "Help! Please!" The people started walking away. "Please, I- I'm begging you, please!"

One woman was left standing there. My voice croaked out as tears ran down my face. "Please..."

"You're a bender." The woman said. "Help yourself."

Once she left from view, hope left with her. I was gonna die, my hands couldn't hold on forever. Once my hands slipped, I looked up at the sky. It almost made me smile, happy to see the way it changed colour depending on its mood, it almost made me forget I was falling head-first on a jagged rock.

My mind was awake, I thought I'd have died. I couldn't move my body nor open my eyes, but I couldn't hear what was going on. It sounded like a hospital room in Republic City.

"Is she gonna be okay, doctor?" A voice, female and unfamiliar, spoke out. "She has to be!"

"Sorry, Miss, but her injuries are fatal." A doctor said. "She might not survive this situation."

"Did you at least contact her family?" The woman asked.

"We're still contacting the Cuermane family, so no."

I really hope the doctor contacts my family. I want to hear my little brother's voice! I want to feel my mother's touch! I want my father to just be here. If I died without seeing them, I'd feel incomplete!
