New Beggers And Beginnings

In newyork 2001 two men Raymond and Darren where moveing into a small apartment they could barely afford , Darren tapped Raymond's arm and spoke "hey Ray I really do love this place but it's more expensive than we anticipated I know you're really upset because of your mother's passing, but we should figure something out.". His roommate turned to him with a cold and empty yet annoyed glare. " maybe we could find a job at a pizza shop if you can make pastries I'm sure you can make pizza. we are in New York. It shouldn't be difficult." So the two put on there costs as the rain started to pour.

Raymond and Darren tried to hall a cab as Ray just hid in his jacket while Darren used what he called his "facecard" to get a taxi to stop for them but failed miserably. " we should probably walk if we even want to get a chance to find a application flyer" Raymond said walking away before Darren could finish hearing his sentance. As they walked Raymond's eyes stopped infroint of of a Church as raindrop hit the stained glass. Looking inside Raymond thought to himself " even though I don't know you yet, thank you for keeping my mom safe in your kingdom... if only I was that safe.. oh well it's not for me".

Darren followed Raymond and payed respects to the church with a head nod as they searched place after place but nowhere was hiring two people. They where about to give up and go home untill they saw a gas station and decided to get a snack. "Hey wanna get slushies " Darren asked with a small golden retriever like smile trying to mask his joy as not to overwhelm Raymond. "Sure...fine..even though I peffer coffee the mechine is broken anway" the two got their drinks and saw application papers.

"Heh look ..I was right " Darren said as he picked up two and Raymond turned to him "but there about to close ..if we file these now we will have to wait till morning ..they have a lot ..but why form so much ex military". Just as they where gonna give up a tall man with black hair and sharp eyes stepped out with the name take "Nicholas" . "So you two boys want a job you look very strong we mostly get ex military,mafia sons or petty thief's .so why ?", Ray was about to speak not trusting him but Darren cut him off "sir we need jobs! We got a apartment and we don't have enough money to pay rent. I'm from France. I used to work as a security guard and he is fresh out of college but used to participate in a fight club.!"

Nicholas nodded and decided to give them a chance, and spoke "how about you to start pumping gas? And then later on, you can follow spade on a job. If you do well you can do night shifts alongside day shifts for extra pay. If you don't do well, you'll be limited to day shifts." As he slides a contract across the counter before reading the fine print Darren signed so Raymond followed as Ray was handed a red jacket with balls and little sparks like a magician and Darren was handed a blue jacket with stripes and hands mimicking a Mime. The two put on name tags as Raymond looked at Darren " I guess now we don't have a choice but oh well a job now let's head home and work tomorrow ,thanks boss!" Darren nodded as Nicholas waved them off and said "cya tomorrow!9am SHARP"

On the walk home, the two passed by a underground Raman shop. "Shall we " said Ramon's as he took Darren's hand who was hsppy to eat. The two ordered their food and sat in a comfortable silence before Raymond spoke " if you're confused, I'm not upset about earlier. I'm just surprised, but I'm happy you got us a job so we can pay for this meal and our apartment ", His firend replied with a warm smile and said to him "I'm sorry if I came off too much but you're making your mother proud...". After the two paid for their meal, they kept on walking as they passed the church and Raymond thought "thank you Lord." after avoid avoiding potholes the two walked home and turned off the Lignt .Goodnight
