As the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the dense forest, a group of spirited friends emerged from the trees, their laughter echoing through the crisp evening air. Among them was a young omega, his demeanor a mix of confidence and playfulness. His friends surrounded him, their animated chatter filled with teasing remarks and lighthearted banter.

"Come on, Jungkook! Are you sure you'll be able to keep up with an alpha when the time comes?" one friend joked, nudging him playfully. The others erupted into laughter, clearly enjoying the moment. Jungkook, slightly flushed, rolled his eyes but couldn't hide his amused smile.

"Oh please, I can handle myself just fine," he retorted, a hint of defiance in his voice, though he sensed the teasing lingered in the air. His friends leaned in closer, their expressions mischievous as they locked onto his features, particularly the noticeable swell of his chest.

"Heavy is the head that wears the crown, or in your case, the heavy melons!" another friend chimed, and they burst into another fit of laughter. Jungkook's cheeks turned a deeper shade of crimson, but he swiftly played along.

"Well, if it helps me attract the best alpha out there, then maybe it's a blessing," he shot back, his confidence returning as he shook his head. The group's laughter softened into a comfortable warmth, the bond between them palpable.

As they walked on, the conversation shifted to their hopes and dreams about the future. "I can totally see you as a strong pair with a mighty alpha," one friend remarked, their voice teasing yet affectionate. Jungkook shrugged, his heart racing at the thought.

"Only if he can appreciate all this," he gestured dramatically to his chest, eliciting groans of mock exasperation from his friends. They knew it was all in good fun, but deep down, they also understood the weight of those words-what it meant to seek connection, to find that right partner.

The sun dipped below the horizon, and the fireflies began to dance around them, their glow mimicking the stars that began to twinkle overhead. Jungkook felt a wave of contentment wash over him, surrounded by friends who would stand by him through thick and thin, teasing or not.

"Alright, alright! Let's just see who steps up when the time comes," Jungkook said with a grin, his heart swelling with anticipation for all that was yet to unfold. With laughter still echoing, they continued their journey home, each step echoing the promise of the adventures yet to come.

As Jungkook and his friends entered the village, they were met with a shocking sight. The world had turned to ash and blood. The village that Jungkook knew-where children played in courtyards, where elders sat by hearths exchanging stories, where his mother's laughter could be heard through open windows-was now a charnel house. Smoke choked the air, turning day into suffocating dusk as flames devoured homes one by one.*

Jungkook and his friends stood paralyzed at the edge of the square upon first arriving-their breaths shallow with horror.

Bodies lay everywhere: an old man clutching a dagger in his lifeless hand; a woman curled around her stillborn child; men who had tried to fight back only to fall pierced by arrows or hacked apart by swords

A few survivors staggered past them-some injured beyond recognition, some already dead.A little boy ran sobbing toward Jungkook before collapsing at his feet... then never getting up again.

The moment of hesitation cost them everything. While Jungkook stood paralyzed, his friends-acting on pure survival instinct-grabbed his arms and yanked him backward.

"KOOK! MOVE!"She shoved him forward as they all turned to flee.

They bolted through the winding alleys of the burning village, their sandals slapping against packed earth smeared with soot and worse. Behind them, shouts erupted-the mercenaries had noticed their escape.
