"What did I tell you about playing with these animals!" My father yelled through gritted teeth, causing my only Friend, Sidney to flee.

"S-She just wanted to give me an early birthday present" I frowned holding up the lovely polka dotted navy blue bow she created.

Sidney was very crafty with everything, clothes the most.

"You don't take anything from them do you understand me?" He snatched the accessory throwing it to the ground and stompin.g it with the his foot.

I cringed at the sound of the bow cracking, knowing Sid Worked hard on it.

"Your one hard headed child." He tightly grabbed my wrist and walked me back into our pale beige home.....

December, 25

1958

"Bella wake up." Chaylin whispered gently shaking my shoulder. Me being the last one to go to sleep I ignored Her and rested with my eyes closed.

"C'mon girl they said it's already Eleven in the mawnin" She Shook me again. "Gimme a minute." I groaned

"Alright guess Auntie Sidney gon' start the banana pudding this year."

My eyes jumped out my socket. "Alright I'm up, I'm up"

Walking to the bathroom I sighed and lazily turned on the faucet to brush my teeth and wash my face. Slowly picking up my toothbrush my brain sunk into my dream. I began to think of my sad reality, wishing God would touch the world

I have been raised to be a racist all my life. I'd had not one friend except for Sindney. I was bullied as a child, I did anything to have peers, even make fun of Sidney. Yet I stopped knowing it was ignorant

Every since my father had the experience with my mother, a black and Italian woman, he hated all people of color period.

From what I was told, My mother took all his money and was a gold digger. I believe he was drunk and had a one night stand.

My older brother told me dad was very angry when he found out he was having a child with a woman of color.

"Who's they? I thought it was just August." I turned my head to blush along with her

"I saw that girly." Chandra smirked

"Saw what?" Sidney put her hand to rest after whisking . She glanced at us back and forth.

She then shrugged,

"Well anyway, You know exactly who im talking about they've been bestfriends forever."

"Oh lord Sid I hope your not talking about Joseph." "No way, I'm talking about Jackson child."

"Ain't gon be no Jackson in hea'." Melvins deep sleepy voice startled both me and Sid.

"I-I was just talking about who's coming back with Aug." Sidney rolled her eyes picking up the whisk once more

"Uh-huh, gimme da' suga jets over thea', please." he slurred opening the fridge for milk. "ChaCha." he smirked kissing her exposed collarbone from behind.
