The nightclub was wrapped in dead silence. The lights were off, the tables had been cleared, chairs lined up in neat rows, and the countertops shimmered in the reflection of moonlight spilling through the windows. Glasses stood perfectly aligned, as if waiting for guests who would never return.
Suddenly, the silence was shattered by a loud crash, as if heavy doors had slammed against the floor. From deep within the bar, between the shelves, came a heavy, uneven breath-someone hiding, waiting for what was about to happen.
It was a girl of striking beauty with a Latina skin tone. She looked no older than 22, dressed in tight jeans, high lace-up boots reaching her knees, a tank top, a leather jacket, and fingerless gloves-all in deep black. She was tall and slim, with a lean, defined waist emphasized by the cut of her clothes. Her long legs gave her posture a sense of lightness and predatory elegance, making her look both dangerous and dynamic even when still.
Her face had sharp features, prominent cheekbones, and dark, thick, arched eyebrows that intensified her gaze, drawing attention instantly. Her large dark eyes, slightly narrowed and slanting downward at the edges, gave her an aura of confidence and magnetic intensity, with something sharply perceptive hidden beneath. Her nose was straight with a slight upward tilt at the tip, perfectly balanced with the rest of her face, and her lips were full and well-defined. Her long, thick jet-black hair fell nearly to her hips, shimmering with a natural gloss.
Suddenly, an enormous black figure appeared in front of them. It had inhumanly long arms, fingers turning into sharp claws, and instead of skin, red-and-black growths resembling a hardened shell. Its face was gaunt and elongated, with cracks where its mouth should have been, as if the skin had been torn apart. Its eyes were huge, round, and completely black, and its spine was clearly visible along its back, with black spikes growing from the shoulder blade area. Its legs were long, ending in clawed feet.
- Run! - the girl shouted.
The boy immediately got up and ran toward the club's exit. He turned back to check if the girl was following him, but she stood her ground facing the monster. Red-and-black energy coiled around her hands, swirling and pulsing as if alive. The air around her trembled, tiny sparks rising upward as the power concentrated, ready to strike. She took a fighting stance.
- I like red - the beast said, its voice heavy, hoarse, and unnaturally deep, echoing through the club. - More power, more fun tearing your guts out.
The girl raised her hands, and the red-and-black energy swirling around them gathered into a single point. She swung her arm violently, releasing a concentrated blast of power toward the beast. The creature shielded itself with its arm, and the energy ricocheted off, striking the bottles on a nearby shelf, shattering and knocking them over.
- You're stronger than the others I've encountered. Who are you? - the monster asked.
- I didn't come here to talk to you - she replied, her voice laced with impatience and slight irritation.
The monster snorted lightly, then lunged at her. The girl raised her hands, forming a red barrier around herself, which the beast slammed into. It began striking it harder and harder, and she could barely maintain the shield. Eventually, the impact was so powerful that the entire club trembled from the force, and the barrier shattered, exposing her. The monster grabbed her, lifted her up, and threw her aside. She crashed into the tables on the other side of the hall.
The beast moved toward the boy, who stared at it in terror, shaking and slowly backing away. When the monster was right next to him, as if under an invisible force, the boy was thrown toward the girl. She now stood in front of him, her face filled with anger and determination to finish the monster once and for all.
