"Ooh bubby I like these!" Ashonté said picking up a pair of Jordan Chrome 6's. They were black, white, and mettalic silver.

"Get em. I'm finna get some Huaraches." He said pointing to a pair of a gold colored nike shoe. Ashonté picked the shoe off display and asked a worker for a size 6.5 in the Jordans. A few minutes later she came back when the shoes.

"They fit?" Ashan, Ashonté's brother, asked trying on his shoe and looking in the mirror. She nodded and put them back in the box. They went to the register and checked out.

"How was school today?" Ashan asked as they walked out the store. Ashonté shrugged and looked down at her phone. She had a busy day yesterday and today at school. She didn't have to work today since she did yesterday.
"It was okay."

"Any niggas tried to mess with you?"

Not the N word.

Ashonté rolled her eyes "Stop saying that word, and no Ashan. I don't pay attention to people just as much as they don't to me."

"Girl stop." Ashan said "Sis you gorgeous. Who wouldn't stop and do a double take?"

Ashonté laughed at her brother as they walked to starbucks.
"Hey Ahsan." Two soft seductive sounding voices filled Ashonté's ears. She eyed the two girls who were drooling over her brother.

"Hey baby how you doing?"

Ashonté rolled her rye and walked up to the cash register. She ordered a tall caramel Frappe and a vanilla iced coffee. Her and Ashan's favorite was the Caramel frappe, but she decided to try something new.

"Excuse me."

It was TK.

Is he everywhere I go.

He reached for the straws and grabbed a napkin. Ashonté used the eyes in the back of her head and she could feel TK staring at her. Examining every curve she had.

Ashonté was snapped out of her thinking when a Starbucks worker yelled out her name.

"Ashonté!"

She quickly walked to take her order and went over to her brother. She handed Ahsan his drink as he ended the conversation between Thing One and Thing Two.
"Who are they?" Ashonté asked smirking at her brother. Ashan always had his way with girls. Every Sunday when they were little and went to church with their grandma, ladies would be all over him.

"Just friends." He said drinking his frappe. Ashonté elbowed his arm.
"Ashan don't lie. We both know your a ladies man."

"That was Zaya and Melissa."

"They're in the 12th grade?" Ashonté asked while drinking her iced coffee and texting Kelly.

"Yeah. You don't be seeing them around?" Ashan asked walking into Polo.

Ashonté shrugged "Like I said, I don't pay attention to many people. I'm just ready to graduate ."

"Well your invited to a party this weekend."

"Is it that back to school thing?" Ashonté asked holding up a shirt against her chest.

"Yeah."

She shook her head "I'm not going. I gotta work that evening."

"You so lame." Ashan said shaking his head walking over to the men's section. Ashonté shrugged and picked up another shirt.

"I'd rather be lame than broke."
