Hey everyone, chapter 2 is here! I am sorry for the wait. Oh! In the first chapter I think I forgot the disclaimer, whoops.

I do not own Danny Phantom or any of the characters mentioned.

First file, nothing. Second file, nothing. Third file, oh would you look at that! Nothing. I groaned and sat back in my seat. The ghost that has attacked the city this past week is nowhere to be found. I have been up since god knows when, looking for this thing! I want to sleep!

The ghosts have become a lot more active lately and they weren't the good kind of ghosts. One of them goes by the name Skulker. He's like a bounty hunter that attacks and kills people. He is one of the top ghosts to kill on my list, the same goes with him.

Don't get me wrong, there are a bunch of other ghosts out there who want to find me but I won't let them, neither will my parents for that matter. We were to quick for them. I, being faster than my parents because of my small stature, am able to get in and out of there in a number of minutes. I don't play around when it comes to hunting the bane of my existence.

Why are they the bane of my existence you ask? Well, let me tell you a story...

I was laying on the couch in the living room. It had been a rough day and I just wanted to relax. But apparently life had other plans for me.

All of a sudden I heard a blood curdling scream coming from upstairs. I shot up from my place and ran as fast as I could to the sound of the scream. It was my sister, Jazz's, room. There was banging and a crash. I opened the door to see that the window on the far side of the room had been broken.

My body felt as if it were on auto pilot as I slowly made my way to the broken window. I peaked out and looked left and right, I saw an almost transparent figure floating away in the distance. It was too fast for me to get a good look at it. That wasn't the beginning of my worries. As I looked around a flash of orange caught my attention. I looked down to see my own sister lying on the ground, blood was pouring from her head.

My heart was pounding. Tears gathered quickly in my eyes and cascaded down my cheeks. It became hard to breathe as I let what I was looking at sink in.

My sister was dead.

"MOM, DAD!" I bolted from the room and called my parents but they weren't home. I resorted to calling 911.

After that everything was a blur.

After my sister died that night, I made it my mission to find whatever it was that killed her. That ghost took something very important from me. It took my sister and my peace of mind.

After replaying all of this in my mind I heard a rapping on the door.

"Come in."

My mother, Madeline, came in with two cups of tea. She set one down in front of me and sat on the table holding her own cup.

"How's the search coming along?" She asked.

I sighed and took a sip of my tea. It tasted a little too sweet for my liking. "Horrible." That was putting it simply.

"Well, since you aren't finding anything right now, why don't you go to bed? I'll take over for you here."

"Are you sure about that?"

"Don't worry about it Danny, you get to sleep. You have school tomorrow."

"Right. Good night mom." I stood up and hugged her before leaving the lab and going upstairs to my room.

Once I was safe behind the door I stripped myself of all of my clothes, except my boxers, and laid on my bed.  I folded my arms behind my head and stared up at the dark ceiling. My vision was locked on the star I had up there that I had smeared with glow stick goo when I was younger.

Thinking back on my childish days made me smile. While I was still at the ripe age of sixteen, I had been through and seen so much that I don't really feel like a kid anymore. Ever since my sister died and I began ghost hunting, I haven't had the time to just be... normal. It's like I have forgotten what it's like to be myself.

I rolled over and pulled the covers closer to my chest. Sometimes I wonder what the old me would think of the new me. He'd probably be pretty disappointed.

I closed my eyes as I felt tears gather in my eyes. Yeah, I didn't want to think about it anymore.
