Opal: Princess of the Decepticons

I - Destiny

7:21 AM,  Coplein Dr, Orlando, FL

Onyx had already woken up and was in the kitchen making breakfast. He already knew Azure wasn't going to have breakfast, she was probably going to go to the lab like always. She always arrived at the lab at 8:15 AM, sharp. Yet she always came home around 6:30 PM. It was half an hour drive to fifty minutes, depending on traffic. 

He glanced at the side room, an half built crib there. He'd have to finish building it another day. He has to go take the other car, his car, to the dealer for an oil and tire change. Then come back and wash it. 

Azure entered the room with a quick "Hello love" and a quick peck to Onyx's cheek. She grabbed a coffee, as she dashed between the living room and the kitchen. "Honey, calmate. (calm down) You're pregnant with our daugther" murmured Onyx as he watched his wife grab and drink the coffee he made...for himself.

"How can I calm down? The four pillars will finally happen today! It's destiny! I'm going to be the one who discovers it, i won't be a regular side alchemist. I'll be famous and being glory to our name" said Azure pacing. "I can't be late for it".

Onyx sighed as he said "Okay, just be home by 6. It's not just you that you have to think about. You have to worry about her". "I know, I know. Were still decided on the name right?" Said Azure, placing a hand on her round stomach. She was 7 1/2 months pregnant, yet never stopped working, which Onyx didn't like.

"The name? Opal of course" said Onyx. "Delilah" added Azure with a soft smile. "Opal Delilah Coplein" finished Onyx before kissing his wife on the forehead as she grabbed the car keys. Onyx sighed as he watched her leave, door closing behind her. 

A few moments later, he heard the car turn on as the sound of the engine faded. 'She'll be back later. I hope she has a good day' thought Onyx. How wrong was he...

II - Broken Lab

8:30 AM, FPPL Rd, Four Pillars Private Lab, Orlando, FL

Azure had arrived at the lab gates, pausing as she searched for her key card. She reached into the glove box and grabbed it. She held it up to the check in machine which buzzed green. The gate opened and she entered. She parked in her usual spot, like clockwork.

She headed into the building and went to grab her lab coat. Once she has it and her gloves on she headed to the room where the actual 'four pillars' experiment was. Before entering, she slid the gloves over her hands, then the sliding doors opened.

This was her lab, a small private one that she inherited from her father. He has attempted what she is doing now, but he was far too old to have finished it. He had introduced the 'Four Pillars' to her. Everyone claimed that they could not be combined successfully, Azure was going to prove them wrong. She was sure of that.

She opened the storage fridge, as she grabbed the four vials. Mercury. Silver. Lead. Arsenic. The necessary steps had been taken to make sure nothing was going to go wrong. Azure grabbed a beaker and placed it over the burner fire. She needed to add the elements one by one, at the right tempature. 

180 Fahrenheit, Mercury.
