The waves slammed into the sharp rocks of the cliff.
Palm trees were ripped from their roots, rain lashed down, rocks cracking under the pressure.
The grey clouds rumbled with thunder, the only light being small lightning strikes.
In the chaos, along the cliff, a boy and girl ran towards a close-by cave.
Inside, Jake flung off his clock as they entered the deeper parts of the cave.
Soon the wind was behind them and the area was a little less colder.
The cave was a drier and the wind lost track of them.
"Could you believe that this is where we went on holiday?" He asked Emily, who was taking off her jacket.
"I mean, it is winter." Emily said, bending over and picking up a stick.
The two got to work, Jake gathered more dry sticks and Emily bundled them up with string.
When the sticks were set up in a fire-place looking shape, Emily placed her right hand on the sticks and her hand began to glow.
When she pulled back her hand, a small fire began.
As the two began to relax.
Jake opened his backpack and spilled out the contents.
Inside was medicines, cash, and books.
Emily grabbed her bag and ripped off the Velcro.
Inside was food, a photo album and water.
Jake nestled against a cave wall, eating an apple while Emily flipped through the photo album.
Chomps and flips of pages was the only sound in the cave.
Emily stared at a picture of them, their mother and father all at Paris, holding pastries with smiles on their faces while the Effie tower was behind them.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
Emily looked up over the book.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She whispered.
A few more moments of silence, Jake pulled out his silver bracelet, the half heart charm
"Twins?" He asked.
Emily pulled out her own, smiling.
"Twins." She said.
The half hearts connected, the soft click warming all them.
But suddenly, they heard loud boots and hits of metal.
The twins jumped up and began to pick up their belongings.
Emily extinguished the fire and ran closer to her twin.
Jake placed his left hand on the cave wall.
His left hand began to glow as rocks began to crumble away.
A very small opening came out as they saw the start of flashlights.
Jake dragged Emily through it a cut appearing on her left leg.
The cold weather stabbed into them like knives.
They ran across the cliff, before suddenly skidding to a halt, mud splattering their boots.
"Well, well, well." Said a voice behind them.
The twins whipped around, and saw three soldiers wearing helmets, holding pistols.
There also was a man in a commander uniform.
He was twiddling a cigar.
"Look who it is men, the two troublesome twins." He sneered.
Emily lit up her left hand with water while Jake lifted his right hand and lightning flashed.
"Fire, men." The commander pointed at them.
Emily blocked them, the bullets halted in the water and Jake used the lightning to knock the bullets off course.
Emily knew that they couldn't just stand there forever.
"Jake, do you trust me?" She asked, blocking more bullets with a water shield.
"You are my sister, of course." He said.
Emily kept up the water shield grabbed his hand.
"JUMP!" The shield vanished and the twins jumped.
But however, a single bullet cut right through her left hand.
"AHHHHHHHHH!" The twins yelled as they fell.
The black water swallowed them up.
Commander peered over the cliff, taking a long drag of cigar.
"Well then, you were right Mary, she is the vulnerable one." He said.
As the twins fell, Jake's hand wrapped around Emily's left hand, feeling the hole.
"Emily, you're ha-"
The water stung his body.
His screams were blurred by the water, strangely, Emily didn't react.
Jake looked down, and saw that his sister was unconscious, air escaping her out through bubbles.
As Jake began to kick into the water, his hand gripping to his sister.
"COME ON!" He yelled into the water.
He waved his left hand and a small amount of earth lifted Emily and him, lifted the above the black water.
When the wind broke into his skin, the water caused him to almost freeze over.
"Ugh..." Came a choke behind him.
"Emily!" He grinned, turning to face her.
The water suddenly seemed so much colder as the wind became even stronger, the mark around Emily's injured hand began to glow, but suddenly, the water began to pull at them in the most untanrual way.
"Emily, is this your doing?" Jake asked fearfully.
"No, of course not." Emily gagged.
The world around them grew dark as an underwater cave gulped them up.
The twins looked atone another, shrugged them began to scream again.
"AUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!" Their voices echoed off but then, suddenly, a voice called out.
"You're the twins aren't you, Jake and Emily?" The voice was strangely calm, familiar.
"What are we all doing here in the dark." Said another voice.
Suddenly, the dark underwater cave was lit up by small glowing crystals.
"Wait..." Jake realized who the two people were.
"Sarah? Jacob?!"
