Monday

At lunch I followed Piper to a few tables that sat alongside the oval. There were already a few people sitting there and she walked up to them all confidently and greeted them. Me being my awkward self, just lingered behind her, not have enough confidence to introduce myself.

"Who's this?", One of them questions Piper and they all look at me. I should introduce myself, but the words got stuck at my throat.

"This is Kirby, she is knew and I'm showing her around", she tells them and they smile and nod, "Sit down with us", Piper says to me, taking a seat at the table with the others. I took a seat next to her. I feel like a lost puppy, the way I'm clinging on to Piper like she is my savour right now makes me feel so pathetic.

"This is Taylor", Piper points to the first girl. She had long blonde hair with light freckles scattered across her face. She didn't look too interested but she was smiling politely at me and did a short wave with her hand. She seems like a quiet one.

"This is Gale", Piper then points to the boy next to her. He had fairly long, brown hair and seemed to be beaming with life. "No, not from the hunger games. Though I could see how you could get us confused, we are both so perfect", Gale poses dramatically, trying to show off his 'perfectness'. The table erupted in laughter. I'm guessing he was a class clown type?

"This is Bianca", Piper points to the next girl who had long brown hair, brown skin and a bubbly smile on her face. She shot me a small wave and I returned it.

"And this is Dyson", Piper points to the last person at the table, another boy. He had short blonde hair, with curls at the tips, clear and glowing tanned skin. He smiled at me, showing his perfect white teeth.

The five of them all started asking me all sorts of questions like where I was from, what I listened to, what I did in my spare time, who was in my family, thought I kind of tried to steer away from that topic.

I learned that Bianca and Gale are the crazy loud ones, Dyson and Gale are 'boyfriends', though not really. It's just "a bromance that can get intense" as Piper described it. Taylor is the sassy one, who seems quiet but she can be the meanest person, apparently. She is the most confront and truthful aswell. Then Piper was the one who is friends with everyone, the social butterfly.

"Okay, now that group over there is the nerd group. Go over there and say you don't play minecraft and they will throw their calculators at you", Gale tells me, pointing down the oval a to a group of kids from our year, "I learned this from experience"

"That was the funniest thing!", Piper laughs.

"Then they got pissed at you again because one of their calculators broke after they threw it at you", Dyson laughs along with Piper. Gale just rolls his eyes, "Yeah, yeah. Hilarious"

"Oh, oh, and that group over there is the slut group. They go out all the time and drink and get with any guys they can and even ones from university and stuff", Piper tells me, pointing to the group of girls, bantering with a group of boys.

"Piper come to the bathrooms with me", Taylor groans and Piper sighs, "Fine, I'll be back soon Kirby! Sorry in advance for these three", she motions at Dyson, Bianca and Gale before hopping up with Taylor and heading into a small building that I'm presuming are the bathrooms.

"That's the jock group over there. The popular guys pretty much. Really into sport and stuff", Gale tells me.

"Not all of them are. Sam doesn't do shit in PE", Dyson adds and then Bianca argues that it was because he had broken his ankle. I kind of tune out of the conversation because they are arguing over things I never heard about.
