Being part of the overwatch team seemed like a dream to y/n, she'd always longed to be part of something bigger. After years of countless training of her powers, she finally got the invite to become what she'd always wanted to be, a hero. Y/N studied under Mei, the climatologist in hopes to help the world as well as the people living in it. Mei taught her how to harness her own powers.

Y/N wasn't ordinary like Mei however, her power coming from her own flesh and blood rather than ingenious contraptions like Meis. Her mother had the gene that carried the power of elements, luckily passing it down to Y/N. Though her powers were hard to control as a child, leading her to seriously injure her father, she makes up for it every time she can by being a hero like her parents always wanted. Her father never blamed her for his injury, his face however served as a terrible reminder of what she had done. Three long burn scars colored his face, expanding over his eye that was now a silky white, blinded from her anger as she tried to practice when she was 7. She apologized daily, the sinking guilt was too much for her to bare so she sought out Mei, her new teacher, at the age of 12.

Studying under Mei was a relief as Y/N noticed she could put out any fire she lit, even when the flames were licked with her fury at herself. Years passed under the careful gaze of her mentor and friend until she finally felt capable of controlling her own rage. As well as fire, she realized that her powers grew with her, the ablilty to grow plants easily with her right hand. She thought it was ironic, growing the most wonderous plants that could lift to the tops of skyscrapers while her left hand could destroy just about anything. Mei had noticed early on that Y/N had anger issues stemming from her mother pushing her to control what powers she had, the burden of making her proud made her resolve shaky at best. But Mei saw it as a threat, trying to nurture her into healthy outputs for her anger. Meditation worked wonders for Y/N, besides the plants that grew with her every calm breath. She created her own garden without even opening her eyes. As soon as Mei taught her to control everything, she sent in a request to have Y/N join the overwatch crew, putting full faith in the girl she'd know for 10 years.

Y/N was now 22, her fear of her power shrunk with time, yet still she held contempt for the fire side of her. She preferred to use only her plant magic, creating giant flowers that enveloped her team whenever someone was injured. She learned that she could mess with the chemical compounds of her plants, the pollen surrounding anyone in her flower could heal just about any injury as long as they stayed out of the line of fire. Her plants, however strong, could not withstand the burn of bullets or god forbid, fire.

Now that Y/N was a member of the overwatch team, she kept a radar for any bad news. She had finally learned about the group that tried with all their might to destroy the team of Overwatch, Talon. She never knew what their goal was but if they showed up, it was always bad news. Winston tried to educate her on their whereabouts but it was always tricky, most of the Talon group stuck to the shadows. Always watching with a close eye on anything that could give them the power to do what they wanted with the world, Talon was a group to be feared.

While Y/N was relaxing, rewatching her favorite shows, she heard the alarm go off on her radar, Winston was calling her to battle. She darted up, slipping on her shoes as fast as possible, she bolted to the door. As she threw open the door, slamming it behind her, she guided the plant life around her house, the flowers growing bigger and taller as to help her jump into action, quite literally. She jumped from flower to flower, vines helping her swing through the corners of the busy city below. When she arrived, Mei, Winston, Tracer, and Mercy were already battling Talon. It was Moira, Mauga, and Widowmaker trying to steal an item that contained the secret to the powers behind the overwatch team from long ago.

Winston knew that they'd have an edge on them if they got their hands on the powers contained in the item, though Y/N had never even heard of it until now. She instantly went to work, engulfing her injured friends within her magical flowers, healing them as fast as she could while Winston blocked Mauga's constant fire. His cackles made him look as crazy as he was, the smile painting his face as he tore down Winston's protective shield. Winston turned his head to Y/N, his eyes desperate as he called out, "I can't hold it much longer, Y/N I need you to hurry that healing along!"

Hearing the desperation in his voice, Y/N used all of her might to heal quicker, Mercy flying up to her to assist, making Tracer and Mei healed in almost an instant. With a nod from Mei, Y/N dropped the petals of her flowers, allowing them to assist in the battle yet again. Now that the healing was done, Y/N could finally join in the defense, targetting Widowmaker. Her arms became entangled in vines, pulling them apart from her sniper as she cursed Y/N in french. She smiled at Widowmaker, knowing she was vulnerable. She approached her quickly, aiming to knock her off of her high ground until she felt a burning pain, feeling like her power was being drained out of her.

A quick turn of her head and she realized Moira was right behind her, though having never seen her before, she was confused and outraged. She cried out as Moira kept draining her plant magic with a smirk on her face. "You look surprised...never felt the pain of decay have you young one?" Moira's voice was deep and coated in a dark tone, sending chills down Y/Ns spine.

"What's happening to me?!" Y/N cried out, trying with all she had in her to block with her plants, all that grew ended up decaying instantly. She huffed in anger and desperation as she held her right hand to her chest, the decay making her feel faint and weak. Anger was rising in her, sparks starting to fly off of the ends of her hair. She clenched her teeth as she groaned in anger, her left hand flying out without her thinking, the flames flying towards Moira. As they met her decay power, it seemed to stun Moira, her smirk faltering slightly in astonishment. She turned to Widowmaker and nodded, keeping Y/N distracted as she roared in anger, her magic swelling with her fury.

As Y/N was focused on Moira, she suddenly felt a hard thud against the back of her head and it all faded to black.
