Rumor Has It

Part 2

Kyungsoo didn't know what he was expecting the next morning when he got to work. He didn't even know if anything would happen between him and his co-worker, but he hoped something might. It would be nice to finally do get out and do something other than work, to spend time with someone other than the people around his office.

Kyungsoo halted when he exited the elevator. Baekhyun leaned against the back of a cubical coffee in hand and a smirk on his lips.

"So wanna tell me anything?" He pushed off the wall, handing Kyungsoo his cup. Kyungsoo only rolled his eyes and started towards his own workspace.

"To what might you be referring to?" He asked as he took a seat and turned on his computer.

"Just that big eyed, Dumbo eared giant constantly asking me if you had gotten to work yet." A hint of a smile showed on his face and it didn't go unnoticed by his friend.

"I may or may not have played with your rumor." Kyungsoo laughed.

"Aw don't play with the guys heart. He seems nice." Baekhyun pouted. Kyungsoo gave him a pointed look.

"You are one to talk mister I-start-rumors-cause-I'm-bored-and-wanna-see-people-react." Baekhyun rolled his eyes and flipped the other off as he walked away.

Kyungsoo sighed as he opened up his email to find plenty of new articles that needed editing and a few upset rants in his email. It seemed as if he would have another busy day and lunch yet again didn't seem to be in the picture.

He took a sip of his warm coffee knowing he would probably need a few more cups to get him through the day.

By lunch time Kyungsoo wanted to tear his eyes out. Each article seemed to get worse and worse as he read on. His head was throbbing and his stomach growling. A sigh of relief passed his parted lips when he noticed someone approach his cubical. A distraction.

His distraction was non other than Chanyeol who was smiling at Kyungsoo cheekily.

"Would you like to go to lunch with me?" Kyungsoo cocked a brow at how straight forward he was. "I mean if you're not too busy." His smile suddenly dropped and his eyes darted around nervously. He changed attitudes in a heartbeat and Kyungsoo was left wondering which one was truly him, cocky or shy.

"I could honestly use a break." Kyungsoo said and got to his feet. He motioned for Chanyeol to lead the way making the taller smile instantly. It was such a nice smile.

They stood silently together in the elevator and only when they reach the parking garage did Chanyeol speak, offering to drive. They went to a small deli down the block. It was a place Kyungsoo and Baekhyun had thought about eating at on more than one occasion but always seemed to become busy.

"So how's work been today? Any better than yesterday?" Chanyeol asked as they sat down with their food.

"Work has been... shit. It seems like the writers are getting worse and worse with each article I get to. I was happy you asked to distract me." Chanyeol choked back a laugh, letting out a snort in the process. His cheeks grew red and Kyungsoo just grinned, his eyes raking over the tall figure.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Chanyeol mumbled behind the large hands that hid his embarrassed face.

"I'm trying to figure you out. Are this cool, sleek cocky guy or are you just a shy guy under a façade?" Chanyeol bit his lip and shrugged.

"Maybe I'm a little of both." I came out as more of a question and Kyungsoo laughed. They eat in silence for a moment as Chanyeol regained his composure.

"At least you don't have to deal with drama queen photographers who get upset if you don't edit their photos exactly the way they pictured it." Kyungsoo took a bite of food before speaking.

"Rough day?" Chanyeol nodded and roughly took a bite out of his sandwich.

"I'll probably have to stay late again."

"Same." Chanyeol suddenly grinned to himself and Kyungsoo wondered what he was thinking.

Sooner than he would have liked their time together was up and they needed to head back to the office. Chanyeol filled the silence with chatter in the car and the elevator but was silent when it came time for them to go their separate ways. He looked at Kyungsoo like he was contemplating something. Before Kyungsoo could say anything the taller leaned down and pecked the shorters cheek. Chanyeol turned away quickly and all but ran back to his own department.

Kyungsoo grinned as he watched the awkward man stumble past people, his face red with a cheeky smile. He was cute.

"I saw that!" Kyungsoo turned his head to see Baekhyun peering over his cubicle wall pointing a finger at his friend. He chuckled and shook his head.

After much pestering Baekhyun finally left with the other employees for the day empty handed. Kyungsoo kept his mouth shut just to piss his friend off. Served him right for trying to start a rumor about him.

It was not later than late and Kyungsoo's stomach was hungry again. Lunch only held him over for so long but he had too many articles to go over to get dinner.

He was already on his fourth cup of coffee, trying his best to stay awake through the bullshit these writers called work. He figured his boss would call him in sooner or later for how many he had scratched and deemed unusable. He had a tough job and sometimes he loved it and sometimes he hated it. Like now.

Kyungsoo heard the elevator ding and he became envious of the person who was getting to leave. Looking down at his mug he found it empty. With a sigh he stood and headed towards the break room for a refill.

He almost fell asleep leaning against the counter waiting for his cup to fill. The delicious smell of food brought him back and his eyes darted to the break room entrance. Chanyeol stood holding two boxes of pizza, some sodas and a grin on his face.

"Thought you'd might like dinner and a break from that black gunk." Kyungsoo could cry he was so happy.

"Fuck yes." He breathed, taking a seat at the small table. Chanyeol set a box in front of him the other for himself. Kyungsoo was quick to devour most of his pizza and only slowed when his stomach was satisfied. Chanyeol was munching happily on his own and scrolling through his phone.

"Thanks." Kyungsoo finally utter, wiping the grease from his lips. "That's twice now that you bought me food. I owe you." Chanyeol smiled and bit his lip.

"Don't mention it." Kyungsoo noticed some sauce on the corner of the others lips. A thought popped into his head and he smirked as he stood, coming to stand in front of Chanyeol. Before Chanyeol had a chance to say anything Kyungsoo tilted his head up and leaned forward, his tongue flicking out to clean the sauce from his lips. Chanyeol's face became furiously red as he sat their frozen with his eyes bugging out. His face was all together priceless and Kyungsoo couldn't help but giggle. God he was too cute.

I'm quite proud of updating this this quickly! I didn't plan on it being fluffy like this tho. There was supposed to be smut in this chapter but it didn't happen...Guess next chapter will have to do!

THE BTS CONCERT IN HOUSTON IS GETTING SO CLOSE! I CAN NOT WAIT TO BE THERE AND SEE THEM AGAIN! GOD IT'S GOING TO BE GOOD SINCE ITS AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES SO I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET SUPER CLOSE AHHHHHHH AND I GET TO MEET THEM AGAIN!
