Chapter # 19

Two Years Later.
Varun's POV
It's been two years since I have completed my studies. We are back in India. I have started my business which is going very good. In just a little time my company has a big name. My dad helped me to set up the company but it is established and achieved so much just because of my hardwork. I have really worked hard for my future. I can finally say that I am a successful man. Shraddha is doing a really good job but we are always very busy. We rarely meet now. I think we have not even talked properly since last two years. Whatever work we have I don't care about it I just want to see her. I called Shraddha and she picked it up. "Hey baby how are you?" Shraddha asked. "I am not fine Shraddha we need to talk I am coming to pick you in 10 minutes." I said. "But...." She tried to say but I cutted her off. "No buts I will not accept any of your excuses." I said. "Okay." She said then hung up. I drove to her office to pick her up and she came looking as beautiful as ever. I wanted to see her so bad she came and I hugged her really tight. She hugged me back then we settled in the car. "I missed you." She said. "Me too." I replied. "So Varun how's your company going?" She asked. "Common Shraddha can't we talk about something else. We are too busy in our lives that we don't give proper time to each other. Don't you miss our carefree lives?" I yelled and she seemed scared. "I am sorry." I added. "Varun you know we are now grown up and we can't continue living that carefree life." She said. We remained silent and I took her to a nearby cafe. "So why you brought me here?" Shraddha asked. I kneeled down. "Will you marry me?" I asked. "No." She replied. "What?" I asked. "Of course I will. It's a yes." She replied. We hugged each other. "Now please drop me back at office or else my boss will kill me." She said and I nodded. I drove to her office. "Don't leave me please." I said rubbing my nose on her cheek. "I don't want to leave you but it's important." She said and got out of the car. "Call me when you reach." She said and I nodded. She gave me a flying kiss which I acted to catch and then she left. I am very happy that soon I will marry the love of my life. I was in no mood to work so I went to my house. "Hi mom and dad." I greeted them. "Hello beta (son) good to see you early. Sit with us your mom and I want to talk with you." Dad said and I got nervous. What they want to talk about? Millions of questions were in my mind. I sat in front of mom and dad. "Varun now it's time for you to get settled. Me and dad have decided a really nice girl for you and we are going to see her tomorrow." Mom said smiling but my smile faded all away. "Mom Dad I love someone else and I will only marry her." I protested. "Varun we are your parents we know what's right for you. Tomorrow we will go to see the girl and I want your answer in yes. Is that clear?" My dad yelled. I looked at my mom for support but she was also agreed with dad. God! Life can't get any worse. I went to my room and slammed the door.
Shraddha's POV
Finally after lots of work I reached home. Today I was very happy because Varun proposed me and I will marry him soon. I went in the living room and saw mom and dad sitting there. "Hey mom and dad. How are you?" I said. "We are absolutely fine. How was your day?" Mom asked. "It was the best day of my life." I replied smiling. "Good. Actually Shraddha we want to talk to you." Dad said. "Yeah dad say." I said. "Tomorrow some special guests are coming to see you." Mom said and I was drinking water which I choked. "Actually we have already agreed with them for marriage but it's just a formality to see you." Dad said. "Dad you can't do this to me I actually love someone and he has proposed me today. I can't marry someone else." I said showing them my engagement ring. "Then it's good for you to remove that ring because you have to marry whom I want you to." Dad yelled and I ran to my room as tears formed in my eyes. I slammed the door and tears bursted out from my eyes. My phone ringed and I saw it was Varun I quickly picked it up. "Shraddha." He said in a broken voice it seems as if he cried. "Varun what's wrong?" I asked in a broken voice. "My parents wants me to marry someone else." Varun said and every hope in me shattered down into small invisible pieces. "My dad also wants me to do the same thing. I think it's time for us to say goodbye." I said and broke down I dropped the phone and burst out crying. Why can't we just be happy? Why God always takes test of our love? I will say a straight no to them I can't marry anyone else. Varun is my life. I will tell him that I will not marry anyone else he was and will be the only man forever in my life. I called Varun and he picked it on second ring. "Varun I am going to say a straight no. I will not marry anyone else." I said. "Me too beauty queen." He said and the word beauty queen made me smile. "Don't worry I will fight with the world to get you." Varun said. "If you love me you will not cry. It hurts me when you cry." He said and I quickly wiped my tears. "Yeah I will not cry but you also promise me that you will also not cry." I said. "I was not crying." He said. "Yes you were." I said. "How do you know if I was crying or not?" He asked. "Idiot because I love you and I know you well." I replied. "Love you too." He said. "I want to sleep now I am tired." I said. "Yeah I am also very tired. Bye take care beauty queen." He said and I hung up. We both knew that it is hard for us to sleep because of the tension our parents have given us.
