Black, soft fabric that had just come out of the wash and smelled like the flowers on the windowsill of our room. Lavender, what else, our favorite flower, probably one of the very few things we actually have in common.

The top clung to her body, and I honestly couldn't really argue with how it looked.
The length was perfect, the buttons, four of them, with only the lowest one fastened, completed the appealing picture.

The only problem: it's mine.

My sister Dora had once again stolen my clothes, which are three sizes smaller, just so she could pose in them in a figure-hugging way.

People keep saying how similar we are, but apart from lavender and apparently a taste in clothes, I really can't feel that at all.

She's much older than me, and even though everyone only knows her polite and open, almost too open, manner, in secret she's even cheekier than I am.

"Seriously, Dora? You know I wanted to wear that today," I confront her while she's standing in front of our floor mirror, whose walnut wood fits perfectly into the atmosphere of our apartment.

She just smiles at herself, slowly steps back, and lets herself fall onto my bed. She likes using my things.

"You have to admit I look good in it, Little Li," she chuckles, because she knows exactly how much I hate that name.
Li is still okay, but what comes before it really doesn't suit me, which probably doesn't suit many eleven-year-olds.

"You can wear that skirt of mine instead, okay? The denim skirt made out of so many individual pieces, the one with the belt attached," she says, raising an eyebrow and reaching beside her.

"I know you like it," she adds while throwing the pink silk pillow she just grabbed at me.

I don't catch it, and it hits my body soundlessly.
"Where is it?" I ask curiously, because that skirt would be a clear win compared to the top.

My sister laughs and points at the dark wardrobe covered in indie rock posters. "Third drawer from the top," Dora comments as I make my way to the other side of the room.

Our room isn't very big. When you come in through the door, the two beds are along the left wall. The first one, with pink bedding, is mine; behind it, in purple, is Dora's. Between our beds there's a nightstand with a radio, and at the back on the other side are the two wardrobes. Opposite my sleeping place is the mirror.

Aside from all the clothes, school things, and suitcases, that's pretty much it. A lot of clutter, most of which belongs to Dora, and my black cat Onyx.

The skirt immediately catches my eye when I open the wardrobe, along with a black bracelet that, like many other things, has simply been tossed into the drawer.

"You should wear that with the top," I say and carefully take it out to show it to Dora.

The leather bracelet looks far too aggressive on me, but it fits her style perfectly.

"You're right," she agrees immediately when she recognizes it and jumps off the bed, causing a creaking noise that reminds both of us how old the furniture is by now.

I hand it to her, and she puts it on along with her other jewelry, smiling contentedly as her dark eyes seem to shine even brighter.

As for similarities, that would probably be one as well. We're both Metamorphmagi and can influence and change our appearance. She chose her long, straight purple hair, and I kept my natural hair color and texture, with a few pink tips, because I at least wanted to make some use of my ability to change things.
