Chapter 1 || Look What The Cat Dragged In ||

"March 16 20xx" That was the current date in Zootopia. Why was in significant? Well, to most animals, it wasn't. But for Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, it was. Cause it marked the fifth year that Pawbert lynxley escaped from jail. Two years ago after literally ZERO signs of him, he was declared/presumed dead. But Nick and Judy were never fully convinced.

They believe there was at least a possibility he was still out there. Where? They had no idea. The search for him went from Zootopia all the way to Judy's home town Bunny Burrow. And there still no signs of him. It was like he just got claw snapped out of existence.

But still, they were never fully convinced. Pawbert was considered stupid by his family, but he was actually a pretty crafty cat. Look no farther than how he manipulated Judy and Gary.

At the moment Nick and Judy were in reptile ravine, now having been restored. Talking or, interviewing Gary and a couple other reptiles to see if they knew anything about were he could have gone. "Are you can't think of any place he could be?" Nick asked Gary. "He could be hiding in the old Reptile Hangout place." Judy said after Nick. "No, I don't think he'd be there. And I have no idea where he could be hiding if he's even still out there." Gary replied to earn a heavy sigh from Nick and Judy. Mainly Nick.

"And guys, it's been five years. I don't think any wanted criminal could hide for that long. Let alone one that can't handle hot weather well." Gary said. "We know.." Judy replied. "Has...any thing weird happened in reptile ravine after his disappearance?" Nick asked. Gary took a pause. "Not that I can think of, the only thing that happened recently was that a few of the libraries books got stolen." Gary replied. "What kind of books?" Judy asked. "Well, they were all really random and had pretty much nothing in common with each other. One was about fatherhood tips. Another was about how to survive in the wilderness. And one of them was about a crazy legend that is usually told to hatchling." Gary replied.

"What was that book about." Judy asked, Genuinely curious on what the book was about.
"Well, like I said, it's a story mainly told to hatchlings, it's about a place that's supposedly far away from Zootopia or any population for that matter. It's called Animalia, and it's supposedly a town full of mixed breeds and hybrids. Some of the animals described in it are crazy, like rabbits with antlers or tiger's with wings. There also describe has being "half evolved". Gary finished.

"Half evolved?" Nick asked. "Oh! Basically saying that they still walk on all fours but can also talk and other stuff like that." Gary replied. "That seems like a very specific book to steel." Judy said.

"You and be both carrots..." Nick replied to his girlfriend. No one but Gary and his family knew that Nick and Judy were dating. The possibility of what could happen if a predator and prey were found to be in a relationship was too risky to think about. Let alone to find out it was highly praised cops.

"I agree, it's weird for an other reason for me to, that because-" Before Gary could finish a lizard came running in a panic. "What wrong?!" Judy asked. "Pawbert!! He's here!! He's stealing food from my shop!!"

Judy, Nick and Gary ran out the door and saw Pawbert hugging something close to he's chest. Probably a sack of food.

"Stop right there Pawbert Lynxley!!" Judy yelled. Pawbert looked up at who said that. When he saw it was Judy his eyes turned to panic and immediately started running. "After him!" Nick said. He, Judy and Gary started going after him.

He was soon chased out of reptile ravine not letting got of the bag of food he supposedly was holding. As the crew come out of reptile ravine. They saw Pawbert ahead in them. "He's heading towards the light house!" Gary said. "If we can get there before him we can corner him off." Judy said. They then started running towards the light house.

Pawbert was running through the weather walls close to where he tried to kill Gary and Judy. He hated being back here as it brought back bad memories for him. But it was the safest place form him and the little fur bundle he was holding close.

He looked down at the little animal in his arms making sure he was okay. He was. He then looked up and saw Gary coming towards him. He turned around to go back the way he came but then Nick and Judy came out from around the corner. He had no choice but to run into the room beside him, hoping there would be a way out in there. But, there wasn't. It was the room where he poisoned Judy and tried to freeze Gary in.

He got horrible flashbacks but they were quickly put in the back of his head when he heard the paw steps behind him. Nick Judy and Gary were all right behind him. He looked back and saw there angry faces. Nick in particular look furious. He clutched the little fur ball closer in to his sweater.

"After all you did you dare try to come back?" Nick said in a dark, menacing tone that caused both Gary and Judy took look it him in shock. "P-please Nick I-" Pawbert was cutoff by Nick before he could finish. "And you DARE call me that after what you tried to do to me!?" Nick said, getting closer to him making Pawbert back away with in fear.

"Nick! This is not the way to handle this!" Gary said. "The fact that you even dared to step foot in reptile ravine again says a lot about you little Lynxley." Nick said. Not listening to Gary. "P-please I'm not here to hurt anyone!" Pawbert begged. Putting one of his arms out in front of him while he's other arm was still holding what the three thought was a pack of sack of food.

"You STLL are holding on to that bag of food?!" Nick yelled. Not understanding why Pawbert was so concerned about a sack of food.

"I-it's not-" Before Pawbert could finish Nick jumped on him causing Pawbert to fall down on his tail, he back against the metal wall.

"Nick! Stop!!" Judy yelled has Nick started to growl at Pawbert. He then looked down at the thing he had in his arms. And was shocked at what he saw.
