How did I end up like this? I wake to the not-so-peaceful sound of my alarm clock blaring. It's 5:00 am, just the perfect time to wake up! Not. I hate that I have to wake up this early but when you live in freezing cold, snowy Canada and are an hour-long car ride away from your high school, that's just life. At least it's the last day of school before winter break. Wait! I can't believe I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Petunia-April Stron, but everyone calls me Dot. Why do they call me Dot? Well, it's quite simple; I freaking hate my name. My mom decided to name me Petunia-April because it has some really personal meaning to her, she won't tell me what that is though. I chose Dot because I had a friend when I was in kindergarten named Dot and I loved the name. I don't know where she is now but I hope she's doing well. Anyway enough about that, I need to get ready for school. I begrudgingly get out of my comfy-warm-loving-peaceful-cozy-amazing bed to the bathroom down the hall of my bedroom to put my school uniform on. At my school you have two options to wear: a kilt or dress pants both paired with a white-collared shirt with my school crest above the chest on the left. I always chose the dress pants, it's just easier and more comfortable. After I get changed, I brush my teeth and head downstairs to chat with my mom before my grandpa comes to take me to school. It's now already 5:45 and I have to leave at 6:00. I walk into the living room and see my mom on her phone as she's sitting on the couch. We chat for a bit as we talk about my school and our plans for winter break. It's now 5:56 so I decide it's a good time to leave as my grandpa is waiting in the car outside of the house. I walk outside and get into the car, we don't say anything to each other besides an exchange of good mornings. The ride is snowy and the roads are icy. There isn't much visibility because of the amount of snow falling.

"I'm just going slow to be safe. We might end up being late just so you know." My grandpa tells me as he slows the car down.

"That's alright, I'll email my teacher to tell him. I'd rather be safe than sorry." I reply as I take my phone out of my pocket to start writing an email to my teacher. Right as I start typing, I hear a screech. I look up and see headlights ahead of us on our side of the road. They keep getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger, as I realise they're coming towards our car. I freeze out of pure shock as my grandpa tries to swerve out of the way but then, everything goes black.
