Riku had almost forgotten what it felt like.

Almost.

He was walking through the school courtyard when he saw a familiar figure standing alone near the lockers, shoulders tense, eyes always lowered.

Ken.

His only real friend.

They’d been bullied together for years. Same jokes. Same whispers. Same people.

Riku had been so caught up with the system…
With the excitement…
That he hadn’t noticed how quiet things had gotten.

“Ken,” Riku called.

Ken turned, surprised. “Oh—hey.”

The smile he gave was weak.

And that’s when Riku heard that voice.

“Well, look at this,” the bully sneered, stepping closer with his group. “Didn’t expect you two to still be breathing.”

Laughter followed.

The bully leaned in, eyes sharp.
“So, Riku… how’s your dad?”

The world went silent.

Riku’s fingers clenched.

---

His dad.

Gone.

Drunk. Crashed. Never came home.

Left behind a broken family, a tired mother, and a little brother who still asked questions Riku couldn’t answer.

The system stayed quiet.

For once.

Riku’s chest burned.

He took a step forward.

Ken grabbed his sleeve. “Riku… don’t.”

The bully smirked. “What? Hit a nerve?”

---

The phone vibrated.

[SYSTEM]: Emotional Spike Detected — Anger Level High.]
[SYSTEM]: Recommendation — Do not engage physically.]

Riku swallowed hard.

Then another message appeared.

[SYSTEM]: Visual Analysis Complete.]
[SYSTEM]: Observation — Target resembles a confused seal when angry.]

Riku blinked.

“…What?”

He looked again.

Wide stance. Puffing chest. Arms flailing slightly.

He snorted.

A laugh escaped before he could stop it.

The bully frowned. “What’s funny?!”

Riku covered his mouth, shoulders shaking.

Confused seal…
I can’t unsee it.

[SYSTEM]: Humor detected. Emotional balance restored.]

Ken stared at him like he’d lost his mind.

“You good?” Ken whispered.

“Yeah,” Riku muttered, smiling. “I’m good.”

---

As the bully walked away, still trash-talking, the phone buzzed again.

[SYSTEM]: Future Event Detected.]
[SYSTEM]: Time — 25 minutes.]
[SYSTEM]: Location — Old storage hallway near the gym.]
[SYSTEM]: Outcome — Extreme embarrassment.]

Riku’s eyes narrowed.

“…Define extreme.”

[SYSTEM]: School-wide humiliation probability — 92%.

Riku looked at Ken.

Then at his phone.

Then back at the bully walking away confidently.

“…Wanna see something funny?” Riku asked.

Ken hesitated. “Depends.”

Riku smiled. “Trust me.”

---

Break time.

The cafeteria buzzed as usual.

Students eating. Laughing. Talking.

Then the big TV screen flickered.

At first, no one paid attention.

Then—

Whispers.

Giggles.

Laughter.

On screen:
The bully.
Panicking.
Slipping.
Saying things he definitely thought no one would hear. ( I will confess my love for amy today) He says.

The laughter exploded.

“What is that?!”
“No way!”
“IS THAT HIM?!”

The cafeteria doors slammed open.

The bully stormed in with his group.

Silence.

Every eye turned toward him.

Whispers followed.

His face went pale.

He looked up.

Saw the screen.

“…WHO DID THIS?!”

No one answered.

Then his eyes landed on Riku.

Smiling.

Ken standing beside him, stunned.

The bully’s face twisted with rage.

“You think this is funny?!” he shouted.
“You two—basketball court. After school.”

The crowd murmured.

Riku leaned toward Ken.

“…We’re dead, aren’t we?”

Ken swallowed. “Very.”

Riku looked down at his phone and whispered:

“Can you help us with this?”

The screen pulsed.

[SYSTEM]: Request acknowledged.]
[SYSTEM]: Of course. Let’s make it entertaining.

Riku chuckled.

For the first time—

He didn’t feel powerless anymore.
