Beomgyu was having a normal day. Which meant he was trying very hard to avoid a certain Choi Yeonjun like he was avoiding death itself.
Too bad death had better manners.
Beomgyu turned the corner and walked straight into Yeonjun’s chest.
A very broad, annoyingly warm, unfairly attractive chest.
"Well well look who walked into me again. You missed me that much, huh?"
"I would rather swallow a cactus".
Yeonjun smirked, leaning closer. His voice dropped in that flirtatious tone that always made Beomgyu’s brain malfunction.
"Careful Gyu. Last time you said something like that, you turned pink for a whole hour".
"That was because you dropped a glitter bomb in my locker".
"Best day of my life".
"Worst day of mine".
Yeonjun grinned, poking Beomgyu's cheek.
"You still look cute though. Like a blushing cherry."
"I am NOT blushing."
He definitely was.
And Yeonjun definitely knew.
Before Beomgyu could scream into the void, the speakers crackled.
"All selected students for the paranormal investigation trip report to the auditorium."
Beomgyu froze. The trip. He had applied because Kai dared him. Then soobin announced ghosts were sexy. Then Wooyoung said he wanted to punch a demon. And San said he wanted to be the demon. And somewhere in that chaos Beomgyu forgot he actually submitted the form.
He waddled into the auditorium with his friends.
And then he saw Yeonjun.
Standing there.
With a folder.
And a smile that spelled doom.
Yeonjun raised a hand. "Hey partner."
Beomgyu’s soul left his body.
The teacher cheerfully announced, "You two will be paired up for the entire investigation."
Hyunjin started laughing. Felix screamed. Soobin whispered "oh my god this is how people die."
Beomgyu sat down like someone who had just been sentenced.
Yeonjun plopped into the seat beside him, leaned in and whispered:
"Guess you can't run from me now Gyu."
Beomgyu swallowed. Hard.
