Hinata, having concluded the strategic planning that determined their immediate future, turned her attention to Lumine and Hirume. The seriousness of the next task was palpable.
"Before we address them, Lumine, I need to convey what your father wants you to do," Hinata began, her voice calm. "Your father, mother and I have decided that you will be the one to name all the monsters we subjugate in the Jura Forest, starting right here with those Goblins."
Lumine's eyes, usually guarded and cynical, widened in genuine shock behind the mask. "Name them? But you and mother told me the cost of that! The draining of a namer's magicule reserves... it can be lethal. Even with my innate power, naming an entire village..." Her voice trailed off, the risk calculation terrifyingly clear in her mind.
"It is lethally dangerous for anyone else," Hinata affirmed, placing a reassuring hand on Lumine's shoulder. The contact was a deliberate choice, reassuring the Dragonoid. "But not for you. You and Hirume possess a spiritual connection directly to Rimuru—a Soul Corridor. It is the highest form of spiritual bond, established when Rimuru named you two. This corridor allows you to bypass your own magicule reserves and draw upon your father's power as if it were your own. As a true dragon Rimuru's magicules are almost infinite; yours, though vast, are not. You must use his."
Hirume leaned in, her excitement overriding her initial shock. "A Soul Corridor! Like a wireless magical power bank, but forever and with no data caps?"
"What kind of analogy is this!" Lumine asked Hirume and started asking about her sister's thinking process in her mind.
Hinata also smiles with amusement at that bizarre analogy. "Hehe, something like that i guess Now, we must practice. Close your eyes, both of you. You must first sense this corridor. Do not seek the power of your own; seek the link to its source. It should feel like a massive, swirling current of energy connected directly to the core of your soul"
Lumine and Hirume closed their eyes. For the two young dragonoids, who had only just come to know about supernatural powers and were still grappling with the sheer scale of their own internal power, focusing inward was a monumental struggle, akin to locating a single drop of water in an ocean.
"This is impossible! Frustration mounted" Lumine Thought . "I can barely grasp my own power, let alone the power of my father's. It's all just raw, overwhelming force". The difficulty wasn't the lack of power, but the scale of it. "I was given this limitless potential, but I can't even perform a simple task like internal focus. I'm a failure even at being a monster". Yet, beneath the self-doubt, the sheer scale of the power she was supposed to access instilled a cold sense of inevitability. She knows If she could access it, she would be more powerful.
On the other hand Hirume feels like she is trying to drink from a tidal wave while floating in a bathtub!. "The energy is too big!" But her motivation was simple and pure. "I have to do this. I need to help Mom and Lumine succeed so we can have a simple, happy life together. A life where my parents will be with me like I always wanted. So, I just need to be useful to my family.
"Focus on the deepest part of your soul, past the barrier of your own individual power," Hinata instructed patiently, extending a gentle mental link to act as a beacon and help with the calculation process. "Try to think of the source as a warm, benevolent ocean, massive but eternally calm; it will help you to connect with it easily and to draw a tiny droplet."
After several agonizing minutes, Lumine felt it: a colossal, terrifyingly calm power that dwarfed every magicule she possessed. It was the presence of her father. She cautiously opened a pathway and drew in a sliver of that seemingly boundless energy.
"Gah!" The pure, unadulterated True Dragon magic almost choked her. It was pure, distilled power—a force of nature that threatened to consume her fledgling consciousness.
