"Not exactly my top priority." Kenji folds his arms over his chest.
Dodgson pauses a beat, "Wait... I know you. You're Daniel Kon's kid. Taller. And you lost the bad, wispy mustache. I was... sorry to hear about your father. He was a formidable businessman."
Y/N notices the way Kenji's fists tighten.
"Did Ramsay invite you to this?" Dodgson goes on, looking down at his tablet.
"Who?" Kenji scoffs in irritation.
"If you're not here to marvel in this feat of human achievement, then what are you doing here?" The man inquires as if it's obvious.
"I am here..." Kenji takes a moment, collecting himself and reforming his frustrated expression, "Because I have a business proposition for you."
"A business proposition, hmm?" Lewis looks up, directing them his full attention, "I'm listening."
"There's an Ankylosaurus in your sanctuary that I'm interested in acquiring." Kenji explains, "And I'm willing to pay a handsome sum."
Y/N and Sammy exchange a glance at Kenji's monetary offer.
"Yes, I seem to remember a dinosaur or two you were especially enamored with during our transaction on Nublar." The older man recalls, pondering, "How much are you willing to pay, exactly?"
"I wouldn't say money is no object, but..." His sentence falls short. He watches as the T-Rex roars out into the rustling trees, "What's the going rate for a dinosaur these days, huh? Five million?"
"I don't think that's--"
"But I'm willing to negotiate." Kenji puts his hand up, cutting Dodgson off, "Eight million."
"Kenj--" Sammy starts, but Y/N quickly covers her mouth, signaling for her to let him try this.
"I wouldn't let a prized Ankylosaurus go for anything less than... ten." Lewis decides.
"Done." Kenji smirks.
"Where do you expect to get that kind of cash?" Dodgson looks back down at his tablet, unimpressed, "Have a bank you plan to rob?"
"Who say's I don't already have it? I am a Kon, after all." Kenji shrugs smugly, "So, deal?" He holds out his hand.
Dodgson looks down at the outstretched palm, holding back something of a chuckle, "I'm afraid not."
Kenji's face falls along with his hand.
"I'm in the business of acquiring dinosaurs. Why would I ever sell one?" Dodgson turns away.
"Then why would you--"
"I wanted to see how much the dinosaur was worth to you." He cuts Kenji off, grinning, "Are we done here?"
Kenji watches as he walks off, seemingly growing angrier by the second.
"It's cool, Kenj." Y/N reassures, "We'll think of something else."
But Kenji doesn't listen, he trudges after Lewis, much to Sammy's protest.
"Oh, Lew." Kenji places a hand on the man's shoulder, "Dad said you were a tough negotiator. So, how about we try a different angle, huh? I'm thinking, hmm, I don't know... blackmail?"
Dodgson scoffs, "You can't blackmail me if I've done nothing wrong."
"You trained Atrociraptors and used them as assassins. You know, the one's that killed my father?" Kenji reminds, "And what's going to happen to your precious company when everyone finds out a Pyroraptor escaped and terrorized a nearby village?" He raises his voice, drawing the attention of the three people watching the T-Rex enclosure.
"Hmm... I'm not sure the exact number of people it killed, but I'd say anything above zero is bad."
Dodgson's brow furrows as he glances between Kenji and the spectators.
"I'm sure BioSyn's already bribing everyone to keep their mouths shut," Kenji proceeds, "As they do. But nothing's gonna stop me from talking to the press. Yeah. Or the authorities, for that matter."
"And I think they'll be very interested to hear what a member of the famous Nublar Seven and son of formidable businessman, Daniel Kon, has to say. Especially since I was responsible for my own father's incarceration for these exact kinds of crimes."
Dodgson turns his back, watching as the T-Rex spots the other dinosaur in the enclosure.
"You know, actually... there is one thing that will stop me." Kenji circles around him, "Give us our dinosaur back. Put us all on one of your fancy planes, then fly us back home. Then you'll never have to see or hear from us again."
The Giganotosaurus comes through the trees in the enclosure, sizing up the T-Rex. They both roar, charging towards each other.
Lewis sighs, "Tough, just like your father." Kenji sticks his hand out again and Dodgson reluctantly shakes it, "Fine, we have a deal."
"Pleasure doing business with you." Kenji grins.
The dinosaurs fight behind them, shaking the ground with their heavy stomps and loud roars. The Giganotosaurus bites into the T-Rex, causing her to cry out.
"Sorry," Y/N steps in front of Dodgson, blocking his view of the enclosure, "We're on a bit of a tight schedule, yeah? Not necessarily interested in... whatever it is you have going on here."
He moves his head to continue obscuring his vision as Dodgson tries to look past him. The older man finally relents, leading them towards the elevator.
The three of them step inside, Lewis following in silence as he looks down at his tablet.
