Upon another Dragon Slayer meeting, it became clear to the Slayers that another trip was to be made to ensure Mori, ever the elusive character, was truly going to be on their side when the time came to go to war in the other dimension. Blake had encountered them twice since their meeting with Bryan and Allumos but neither visit could tell her much about whether Mori would be loyal to the cause itself or just to Blake.
Allumos came to the conclusion, once again, that he, Blake and Bryan should be the ones to pay Mori a visit again. While the previous trip was not particularly... Nice between the three — well, four, counting Mori — of them, they could work together as long as Bryan worked his magic as a mediator between Blake and him — and thus Allumos could be a mediator between Mori and Bryan.
However, Bryan decided to throw a wrench into Allumos's plan. For Bryan Divil did not want to go, "Listen, I understand this is important, and I do believe in getting as many allies as possible, but I can't keep going behind the Protectors backs! Mori is a member of a Dark Guild — Devil's Tongue for God's sakes! Lo'Pho is bound to take notice of what's happening and when he does I'll have no choice but to take action against Mori... I don't want to do that..." Bryan spoke, the others listening intently, "I want to help in any way I can... But I have to stop this here, at least for me, I can't be helping a member of a Dark Guild. I'm sorry," Bryan finished, surprisingly not stuttering once, despite going against Allumos.
Allumos's expression was unreadable for a few moments before he moved closer to Bryan, the night air cooling the tension, he gave Bryan a soft smile, "Bryan, my boy, there's no need to apologise!" Allumos put a hand on Bryan's shoulder and the others genuinely were not sure how this would end, "I completely understand! Going against the law, especially if you are close to the enforcer, is quite a scary thing to do! If you're not up to this trip, it is completely fine!" Allumos spoke, his smile growing wider. The Slayers, especially Bryan, were not entirely sure whether or not Allumos was messing with him... They could never tell with Allumos.
Bryan's stutter prevailed, "Y-...You're not upset?" He looked as if Allumos answered the question, no matter the answer, that he'd simply crumble and die.
Allumos raised an eyebrow, smirking, "Of course, lad! Why, getting upset over something so trivial is just silly!" He finally moved away from Bryan and over to Blake, now resting his hand on her shoulder, much to her discomfort, "Blake and I can manage together just fine!" He ended his little speech grinning ear to ear, whether he intended to show his prominent canines the others will never know, but they were visible, and most definitely sent a shiver down a few spines.
Mario interjected at that final comment, "Wait... Just you two? Don't you think it'd be better to have someone else go along, just in case?" He crossed his arms, looking directly into Allumos's dark eyes, as if directing the 'just in case' at him specifically. His worries were not unfounded, the previous attempt that included Bryan barely avoided those two devolving into an all-out brawl, now Allumos expects them to be completely fine?
Blake, surprisingly, spoke next, "Well, as much as I'd like someone else to come with us — no offence Allumos," She turned towards him, he just squinted, still smiling, "— Mori was barely comfortable with the three of us, if we brought someone completely new to them, they may not... Trust us? I guess..." Blake rubbed her arm looking down, the expectation to understand everything about Mori, to be their advocate, was not an easy one to keep up with when Mori made it so hard for even Blake herself to trust.
Allumos nodded, "Yes, my dear you are right. That Mori fellow is quite the distrusting individual! Bringing someone else will hardly end well," Allumos glanced over to Mario at that last remark, a smug grin lined his pale face. Unfortunately for Mario, he couldn't tell why Allumos made this expression. If only he were a mind reader.
