Part 1

                             [Prologue]

"Chi Cheng, what if I become an omega?" Wu Suowei asked like he does all the time.

Chi Cheng laughed as always, "Then I'll marry my Weiwei."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Unlike this time Wu Suowei didn't laugh. His face flushed from nervousness as he whispered, "Then do."

But Chi Cheng didn't hear him. He laughed like every other time and Wu Suowei's heart cracked just a little more.

Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng are members of boyband under the same agency. They live in the same penthouse along with other members of their group. Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei, Guo Chengyu, Jiang Shuai, Hua Young, Sheng Shaoyou, Shen Wenlang, Gao Tu all of them have known eachother since the beginning of their career. Among them Chi Cheng, Guo Chengyu and Sheng Shaoyou and Shen Wenlang are Alpha, while Jiang Shuai, Gao Tu and Hua Young presented as Omega. And Wu Suowei was a beta.

Was. Or so everyone thought when he didn't present even at age 20. At the age of 21, Wu Suowei presented as an Omega proving to everyone that he was a late bloomer.

Wu Suowei met Chi Cheng when he was 14. At that time Chi Cheng was 19 years old, already presented as an alpha. They bonded quicker than synching cord of piano. Wu Suowei has always been the closest one with Chi Cheng. They were practically inseparable. Despite their age difference Chi Cheng has never treated Wu Suowei distantly nor demanded any honorary. Neither Wu Suowei has ever thought before behaving in certain way with Chi Cheng. They were best friends before all.

At 17 when most of the wolves present themselves, Wu Suowei still remained as a pale, thin boy without showing any development. At that time Wu used to ask Chi Cheng,

"Chi Cheng, What if I become an alpha?"

Chi Cheng would snort, "With those dainty legs? Not a chance."

Being teased Wu Suowei would immediately attack Chi Cheng's neck, "Chi Cheng!"

And both would laugh in their own banter. After spending all their energy in biting, scratching eachother finally they would lie flat on the bed side by side, staring at the roof above. At some point Wu Suowei would turn his face towards Chi Cheng, eyes mischievous.

"Hey, Chi Cheng."

"Mm?"

"What if I turn into an omega?"

Chi Cheng's lips would curl into a sly smile. He would turn his head to face Wu Suowei and reply, "Then I'd marry you."

Wu Suowei would grin hearing that and challenge, "Would you dare?"

Chi Cheng's grin would reflect his, "Why don't you try me, Weiwei?"

And then he would attack Wu Suowei tickling all of his weak points until he's a laughing -crying mess.

Two years passed like this. When Wu Suowei turned 19, still not presented, he realised the strangeness in his own behaviour. He no more liked it when Chi Cheng left the penthouse every three months for a week to spend his rut with some omega. Xiao Shuai teased him saying he's getting replaced by sister-in-law. Others said he's just possessive of his older brother. But nothing could diminish the ugly burn in Wu Suowei's chest.
