A Better Understanding

Yoonchae's POV

I just stared at Sophia waiting anxiously for her reply. I just wanted to fix things, to finally be in good terms with Megan again

"Fine... but don't make me regret this"

My eyes lit up instantly as I made my way upstairs to Sophia's room, I slowly opened the door unsure but when I saw her hugging her knees crying on the bed my heart immediately broke down

I never wanted to hurt you Megan...

I approached her steadily; she hasn't seen me yet. I sat down near her, she shifted in her place because of the sudden movement

She turned her head now facing me

"W-What are you doing here? G-go away!" she managed to mutter out

I reached for her face wiping a tear on her cheek, she just stared at me shocked

She pushed my hand away and screamed: "Go away cheater!"

As she said that she let out a bark like cough. She had caught a cold; we should've never fought in the rain

"I'm taking you home" I made sure my tone left no room for argument

"W-What? No! I-I'm staying here" she exclaimed

I didn't give her a choice and picked her up bridal style

"Y-Yoonchae let me down right this instant!"

She screamed and kicked the air squirming to my touch frustrated

I was careful but my actions were hurried.

"Shut up, stop moving you're sick." I muttered

"Then let me down, I want to stay here!" she shouted.

We reached the living room to stumble upon a confused Sophia, it was already late, so she just gave me the keys to her car with no hesitation

I could carry Megan all the way home, but Sophia's place was so far away from us and Megan kept pushing me away

I could feel the heat of her body getting more intense, maybe because of the way I was holding her or because she was sick

Sophia opened the door to the passenger seat, and I sat Megan down

"Don't move." I ordered

I got in the car and started it in a brisk, I said goodbye to Sophia and promised to return her car safe and sound by the next day

"This is ridiculous! Why are you even doing this!" she shouted

"Because I'm not letting you go again" that shut her up

Once we reached home, I stopped her from getting out of the car herself. I rushed out and opened the door for her and swept her into my arms again

"This is unbelievable Yoonchae I can walk!"

"I know, but you're sick and I don't want you running off to somewhere again"

She rolled her eyes, but her cheeks were flushed red

I placed her down the bed stating for her that she should wait there.

She was already tired and made herself comfy on the bed wrapping herself up with the blanket.

I came back bearing medicine and soup—I checked her forehead to discover that she had a fever

I left the room again and brought back a basin with water and a cloth

She fluttered her eyes open again soft this time not with that stern look ready to kill.

I got down near her face and started dabbing her temples with the wet cloth. "You careless girl, don't you know how much you make me worry?" I mumbled

She flinched at the touch, but she let me but after hearing my words she pushed me away once again

"Y-You don't get to say that!" she pleaded

I didn't waste any time and finally began explaining myself. All the doubt, pain, uncertainty washed away as tears came out of my eyes

She looked at me shocked as I continued speaking explaining everything, I could see her forming her own tears as well

I got up and hugged her

"I'm here for you whether you like it or not"

"Y-You stupid girl!" she cried out hitting me

I took every hit she gave me not pulling away from the hug even if her touches started to hurt

"I-I waited so long! Y-You made me fucking wait so long!" tears still escaped her eyes damping my shirt

"Y-You made me think I was nothing and now you come back? Taking care of me like it should be enough?" her voice trembled

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" she screamed once again finally stopping at hitting me and just let her tears merge with my shirt as she buried her face into my neck finally melting into the hug

"You should've come earlier..." she kept on crying and the way her tears sounded and the number of tears she poured out sliced my heart like a blade

"I know... I'm sorry love" I hugged her tighter now like if I were to let go, she would break into something I can't fix anymore

I just let her cry into my neck for a while not saying anything just slowly stroking her hair untangling knots as I do so

Once she finally turned away, she looked at me seeing red hit marks and tears on my chest. "I-I'm so sor-"

Before she could finish, I kissed her. Days of tension, regret, pain, jealousy snapped all at once like a rubber band

I didn't give her room to think as I deepened the kiss, my head tilting a bit.

We stayed like that for a moment then finally pulled away both breathless.

She finally let out a laugh, a laugh I had been waiting for.

I smiled knowing she's back and she believed me. I pushed her back on the bed tucking her in

"Hey!" she exclaimed both annoyed and confused

"You're still sick and I'm taking care of you whether you like it or not"

I handed her the soup; she just stared at it "Just drink it. It'll help you"

She just sighed as she drank the soup reluctantly

I handed her the medicine, and she refused to take it

"No, I don't want that"

"Megan"

"No!"

She buried her face in the pillows of the bed, what am I a parent making their child drink their medicine?

I got an idea and took the medicine in my mouth. I turned Megan around and cupped her face leaning in for another kiss

She was shocked but instantly melted into it. At one exact moment as she opened her mouth, I gave the medicine

"That outta get you to take your meds"

She looked at me annoyed as she drank the water I prepared for her on the nightstand. It was finally silent in the room

I laid down next to her cuddling her into a spooning hug. My hands wrapped firmly around her making her unable to escape my touch

And just like that we drifted away in the silent night.

So there you go their happy now!! Once again, maybe I should stop hurting my characters HAHHAHSAHHHASH
