“Okay, seriously, have you seen Daniela today?” Megan squealed as we made our way across campus, weaving between clusters of students. “She walked past me and I swear the whole world paused. She’s… wow. I don’t even know how to describe it.”

Yoonchae rolled her eyes but smiled faintly. “You say that about everyone, Meg.”

“No! Not like this,” Megan insisted, waving her hands dramatically. “She’s… hot, smart, intimidating, but also kinda soft if you catch her in the right moment. And she totally looked at me today—like, really looked! I think she likes me!”

I snorted quietly, keeping my smile in check. Megan’s crushes were always loud, dramatic, and chaotic—but there was something oddly fun about watching her get flustered.

“And?” I asked, trying to sound casual, though a small part of me couldn’t help smiling.

“And?” Megan gasped. “I think… I think she’s noticing me! And I’m noticing her! It’s perfect, Soph! Isn’t it obvious?”

I laughed, tugging at the ribbons in my hair. “Obvious? Definitely. Perfect? Maybe. But you two… you’d look cute together.”

Megan froze mid-step, her jaw dropping. “Wait. Are you—are you shipping us?”

“Shh,” I said, waving my hands like I was letting a secret slip into the wind. “I mean… yes. Totally. You’d be adorable together. You just… have to stop being so obvious, maybe?”

Megan squealed again, grabbing my arm and bouncing on her heels. “I knew it! You’re the best, Soph! I knew someone would understand!”

Yoonchae gave me a side glance, lips twitching like she was holding back a laugh. “You’re going to get Megan in trouble again.”

“Maybe,” I admitted, smiling softly. “But if she’s happy, it’s worth it.”

We rounded the corner and saw Daniela walking with her friends, confident and almost untouchable as usual. Megan practically vibrated next to me, staring, and I couldn’t help smiling at how hard she was crushing.

Oh, this is going to be fun, I thought.

We’d rounded the corner, trying to act casual after the brief crossing with Daniela, Lara, and the mystery girl. Megan, of course, was far from calm.

“Sophia,” Megan whispered, leaning close like she was sharing a dangerous secret, “that girl… she’s so your type.”

I blinked at her, heart ticking a little faster. “M-my type?” I asked, though my voice stayed level.
