ME: Alright everyone! What you just saw is the start of Kubo's story. Now, you will be reacting to what happened a few years after the first video.

(Everyone looks at the screen again. The next video plays, revealing a cave during nighttime.)

RUMI: It seems pretty dark in there.

(The scene switches to a young boy sleeping on a mat. He slowly opens his eyes (or rather, his one remaining eye, and slowly sits up. Everyone recognizes him instantly.)

RUMI: Oh look, Kubo, it's you!

KUBO: (Smiling) Yeah.

(The scene switches to Kubo bending down and picking up the colored origami paper lying all around the floor. He finally manages to gather them all and puts them back on the "shelf" in a back part of the cave.)

RUMI: (Intrigued) That's a lot of paper. I wonder what he uses them for?

(The scene cuts to Kubo striking matches over a fireplace. The scene cuts again to a pot of water boiling over the fire. Kubo adds some seasonings to the pot, but draws back his hand in pain as he nearly burns himself.)

RUMI: (Wincing) He needs to be careful.

(The scene then switches again to Kubo laying down a single bowl of rice with a pair of wooden chopsticks. He then lays down two small white bowls on both sides of the bowl with rice. Beside one of the white bowls, he lays down a carved wooden monkey figure. Everyone stares, confused as to why something like that is next to a small meal.)

RUMI: Interesting. What is that?

(The scene switches again to Kubo sitting down, looking down at his setup with pride. He then turns to look at another part of the cave, and smiles. The scene then cuts to him approaching his sleeping mother, whom everyone recognizes as the woman from the first video.)

KANAO TSUYURI: Oh. It's her again.

(The scene switches to Kubo watching his mother sleep. He then gently moves some strands of her long, dark hair out of her face, and she slowly opens her eyes to look up at him. Something, however, seems off about her behavior, which everyone watching takes notice of.)

YANG XIAO LONG: Huh. Something seems off about her, don't you guys agree?

RUMI: Yeah. It's... worrisome.

(The scene switches to Kubo smiling down at his mother, before helping her sit down near the fire. Kubo picks up the bowl of rice from earlier and begins feeding her with the chopsticks. A piece of rice falls, and he immediately catches it and puts into her mouth.)

RUMI: (Realizing something) She seems... to be quite catatonic.

JINU: (Nodding in agreement) Yeah.

RUBY ROSE: I mean, at least she's able to eat as he feeds her, right?

(The scene then transitions to Kubo helping his mother to sit near the entrance of the cave, to watch the sunrise. As his mother stares out, Kubo takes some pieces of paper and uses his origami skills to craft a reindeer, a snake, and a jaguar.)

RUMI: Interesting. Looks like he's got some pretty good origami skills.

(The following scene shows Kubo taking a red piece of paper and turning it into a mini samurai. He tries to get his mother's attention by showing his creation to her, but she doesn't pay any notice, and instead continues to stare out. Sadly, Kubo resorts to watching the sun rise with his mother, even leaning on her shoulder. And with this, the video ends.)

RUMI: That must be hard... having to care for his mother all on his own. Now that I think about it, where's his father?

JINU: Perhaps we'll find out in the next video.
