Mavi: Can abi?

Can bends down to Mavi's height.

Can: Güzelim, how are you?

Mavi smiles.

Mavi: I'm doing good, (whispers) I'm just a little mad at baba.

Can laughs.

Can: Ömer, why are you upsetting my little niece.

Ömer: Can, she didn't let me explain.

Can and Mavi turns to Ömer waiting for an explanation.

Ömer: After the event last night, Metehan abi took Kıvılcım abla's car, so I offered to take her home.

Ömer looks sternly to Can, so he can confirm what Ömer just said.

Can: It's true Mavi. I was there.

Ömer straightened quickly, his stern expression melting into something soft.

Mavi: Okay, but you have to take me to her soon.

Ömer: (gentle) I promise, now go back to bed, I’ll tuck you in soon.

Mavi looked at Can suspiciously. Her little brow furrowed as if she already sensed grown-up things were being kept from her.

Mavi: Don’t stay up too late. You’re grumpy when you don’t sleep.

Both men chuckled faintly, the tension breaking for a moment as she shuffled back to her room.

Can: Lying to your daughter now?

Can chuckled.

Ömer: If my daughter would stop being a little investigator, I would not have to lie to her. I took Kıvılcım home this morning and her scent was all over my car. It didn't take long for Mavi to realize and she's been pouting  ever since.

Can: How are things between you and Kıvılcım?

Ömer: I think we're going at her pace. There's so much turmoil in her soul that I just have to be patient with her. Honestly Can, I'm falling for this woman and all I want to do is tell her openly.

Can: Then do it.

Ömer: I'm afraid I'll scare her away but let's not talk about that now. How's your situationship with Fatma?

Can: There is no situationship. I'm telling you now abi, I'm going to marry this woman soon. She's feisty, scary, beautiful and so funny. She keeps me on my toes and I need that.

Ömer: I will have to speak to Fatma. What has she done with Can bey, the womaniser?

The both laugh.

Later that night Ömer layed in bed, one arm behind his head, the other resting across his chest. Sleep wouldn’t come, his mind circling endlessly around the folder Can had left behind and Kıvılcım’s face when she laughed that morning, unguarded for just a heartbeat.

His phone buzzed on the nightstand. At first, he thought it was Can again. But the name lighting up the screen made his heart kick hard.

Kıvılcım.

He swallowed, thumb hovering a moment before answering.

Ömer: Alo?

There was a soft pause, then her voice low, a little tentative, yet warm enough to seep right into him.

Kıvılcım: I hope I didn’t wake you.

Ömer: (half-smiling) No… I couldn’t sleep anyway.

Kıvılcım: (gentle laugh) Good. Then I won’t feel guilty. I just wanted to tell you, the event… we’ve been receiving a lot of praise. And tonight I got an email from Art & Soul Magazine. They want to do an interview with us... (pause) Together.
