Author's Note;
Lucky? Maybe or just a writer who's thoughts are everywhere.
I would suggest you get some tissues for this one, I still have a lump in my throat.
Enjoy.
"Grief can be the garden of compassion. If you keep your heart open through it, your pain can become your greatest ally in your life's journey"
The moment the door clicked shut behind them, Kıvılcım hung up her coat and took of her heels. She didn’t look at him. She didn’t even pause, just kicked off her heels and made a beeline towards the stairs.
Ömer leaned against the doorframe, watching her disappear up the stairs. She became restless in her seat in the car and Ömer realized that she was never able to use the bathroom, because as Kıvılcım would've referred to it as "his and Metehan's fault". He didn’t ask where she was going, he already knew she was heading to his bedroom bathroom.
It was twenty minutes later and Kıvılcım still hasn't come downstairs. Ömer had made them coffee and was contemplating of whether to go upstairs. He certainly didn't want to push her any further.
He made his way up and the door was half open. When he walked in, the bathroom door was open indicating she's not there and she was definitely not in the room but he noticed that the door to his balcony was open.
He walked over and found her sitting on the couch, the throw blanket that was draped over the couch, she wrapped tightly around her arms.
Kıvılcım heard him come out on the balcony. She looked at him. His shirt was halfway unbuttoned and his sleeves was pulled up. He clearly ran his hand through his hair because it was disheveled.
She looked back at the view in front of her.
Ömer didn't say anything, he put the coffee in front of her and sat next to her on the couch, keeping a clear distance between them.
They drank their coffee in complete silence. Ten minutes went by... Then twenty... Then thirty. Their coffee was long done. No sounds came out of either of them. Ömer didn't speak because Kıvılcım had warned him. Kıvılcım didn't speak because she was mad at him but her mind kept drifting back to what Fatma had said about Ömer thinking she's slipping away. She decided to break the silence, the best way she thought.
Kıvılcım: Where's Mavi?
Ömer released a breath he didn't realise he was holding.
Ömer: I took her to my parents home. She hasn't seen them for a while but she wasn't really happy with me.
Kıvılcım: Why?
Ömer: I told you earlier we had an issue, that caused me to be late... (Kıvılcım shook her head yes) well you were the issue.
Kıvılcım is confused.
Kıvılcım: I don't understand what you're saying.
Ömer: I thought she would forget about it, but she realized that it was the event day. Meaning you're going to be there. She wanted to come with so she can see you. And when I told her no kids were allowed. All hell broke lose.
Kıvılcım smiled.
Ömer: I had to buy her over with anything I could think about. We settled on me bringing her to Veritas. Kıvılcım, my daughter is getting attached to you.
Kıvılcım: I'm getting just as attached to her.
Ömer: Promise me that whatever is going on between us, it would never interfere with your relationship with Mavi.
