|^|Just this once|^| -The Amazing Digital Circus

-This takes place after ep 5!-

Pomni, in all her time in the circus, never expected to become friends with Jax.

She would've put her bet on her abstracting first, then ever getting close with the rabbit- who made it his personal mission to make everyone's lives in the digital circus a living hell.

Ok, maybe they weren't that close, he would still pull pranks on her and sabotage her part of the adventure. Though he did seem to take it a bit easier on her. Not by much, but enough for the jester to notice.

 After the last adventure, she learned a lot more about him, and that maybe he wasn't just the bully of the circus. He still very much was one, but thanks to that little talk they had during the soft ball adventure, she got to see a different side to him, even if it was just a glimpse.

  She found herself enjoying conversations with him, when he actually opened up.

  At least 2 weeks has past after they gotten closer- well, close enough to where Pomni didn't want to choke him 24/7- and it was now time for the next adventure.

  As usual, everyone was gathered around the stage, waiting for Caine to appear and announce the next adventure.

  "I wonder what Caine has planned for today!" Ragatha said, in her usual chippy voice. Hiding any trace of her crash out she had a few weeks ago

  Gangle, with her new happy mask, spoke up, "I hope it's like the suggestion ones, all the recent ones have been a bit too chaotic for me."

  Pomni agreed, "I did really like the stargazing one, felt like I could finally relax."

  "Pfft, that one was sooooo boring!" Jax's voice cut through the conversation like knife through butter. His mischievous presence not matching with the others, like he was never meant to be among the group. Yet, here he was, "Unlike you becoming president, Pomni, now that was hilarious!"

  Pomni rolled her eyes, "It was only funny to you, because you suggested it."

  Jax's grin grew wider, "You sure? Because I recall Kinger enjoying his role as your assistant."

  Kinger saluted, "It was an honor doing my duty!"

  Zooble then butted in, "I wonder if Caine still has my suggestion of forcing Jax to be quiet for the entire adventure?"

  "You flatter me, Zooble," Jax placed a hand to his heart, like the geometric character just asked him out to prom.

  Zooble just groaned in response.

  Before anyone could add onto the conversation, Caine appeared before them. His chaotic energy clashing more with the group then Jax's.

  "Good morning, my little pineapple and pens!" Caine's voice rang out through the circus, as Bubble appeared out of his hat. "For today's adventure, you will-" he immediately froze, like his brain had hit an invisible wall.

  He stayed like that for a good 30 seconds, causing the others to glance at each other in slight concern. Except Jax, he just stared at Caine with his usual bored, yet amused grin.

After a moment, Bubble floated over to Caine and licked the side of his face.

Or jaw? Whatever- doesn't matter.

Caine snapped out of his trance, as Bubble exclaimed, "Good evening, Caine!"

Caine wipped of Bubble's saliva with disgust, "It's morning, Bubble." He murmured, then suddenly switched back to his ringmaster voice, "Anyways! Hmmm...it seems I don't actually have an adventure prepared for today. Not to worry, I'm sure I can come up with something real quick! We could do gather the gloinks again, but we could make it a challenge to see who could gather the most, or-"
