Raise Your Voice
So you can’t help it, you’re afraid
You got a million words in your head
That you won’t ever say out loud
And yet you go through every day
Keeping your chin held high
And strutting like no one could ever bring you down
But I can see it in your eyes
(You could never fool me)
All you ever say are lies
(And they’re too blind to see)
That something in you dies,
When everyday
You shut your mouth
And duck your head
Wishing that you said something
And yet here we go again
You can’t break away,
Take a chance and sing
And say what you mean
When will you take a stand?
When is enough enough?
When do you know that
They went too far?
The words are there
No one can compare
The thoughts you think
But, even then, I’d swear
What they do is wrong
Why would you go along?
You know that you’re better than that
Raise your voice
Let the words wash over
Your soul
Let everybody know
You won’t take this
Not anymore, not anymore
Stand your ground
Forget what they tell you,
It’s your life
And you can sing all you like
You’re the only one stopping you
So raise your voice
Raise your voice
