Appearance

Kairo is a standard adult worker drone with a lot of scars on his visor. He wears a Commissar cap similar to the one from Warhammer 40k, a black cloak cape and a typical commander outfit.

Personality

Kairo is a disciplined and serious worker drone who carries himself with calm authority. As commander of the rebellion army, he takes his responsibilities with unwavering focus, believing every drone under his command is his personal responsibility. Protective and principled, he is driven by the conviction that the rebellion’s cause is just and that protecting weaker drones is his highest duty. Kairo’s leadership style reflects this mindset—he prefers careful planning and calculated strategies over reckless action, yet he always fights alongside his forces rather than sending them into danger alone. His presence is steady and inspiring, giving courage to others in their darkest moments. However, beneath his composed exterior lies a deep burden: every soldier lost weighs heavily on him, and he often shoulders guilt that isn’t his to carry. His rigid adherence to duty and tendency to sacrifice himself for others can sometimes put him at odds with more flexible or reckless allies, yet his drones respect him for his consistency and selflessness.

Relationships:

Nori - Kairo highly respects Nori for her work and resolve to fight against the company despite losing her main body and only living as a drone core. While surviving, he encounters Nori and even saves her while being hunted down by disassembly drones.

Oren - Former comrade-in-arms. He respected his strictness and standards for the rebellion's security. However, when he introduced disassembly drones (N, V, and J) to the rebellion after being saved by them believing they are not murderers, Oren shut them down showing his irrational and paranoia to disassembly drones casuing them to go at each other's throats.

Soren - Comrade-in-arms, a well respected close friend to Kairo. He highly respects his intelligence and skills in recon, stealth, abd information gathering. Outside of work, they spend time together drinking oil.

Renn - They are neutral, just a fellow council member. Tho at times he feels like Renn cares nothing more than the public image of the council to the worker drones in the rebellion.

Yeva - A close friend of Kairo, alongside Nori, they were one of the first drones to ever join the rebellion.

A - a worker drone he highly respects due to him being one of the very few worker drones that can solo a typical disassembly drone. His skill sets and his work under Soren, eventually succeeding him and eventually training four elite tier soldiers made him believe that A is one of the best assets of the rebellion. Tho they don't talk outside of work as much, they aren't distant to each other.

N - Kairo thinks N is a goofball but thinks highly of him after contributing to his squads survival in their first encounter.

J - As the head of operations, Kairo respects her due to her diligence and efficient work in keeping the operations of the rebellion flowing constantly. In a way he gained loyalty to her willing to die to protect J as he understood J was essential to the rebellion's operations.

V - They do not interact much but V was one of the first disassembly drones (along side N and J) to show him not all disassembly drones are murder drones.

Rin - Being Yeva's daughter, he cares about what happens to her but her combat ability and skill sets in recon and intelligence gathering that's even better than A's reassures him that Rin can handle herself . When she was appointed head of intelligence and strategy, he finds that her contributions are essential to the rebellion

Uzi - Being Nori's daughter, he naturally cares about her. They don't interact much but when Uzi pitched the new weapon for the rebellion: UI26, he was impressed.

Fun fact

Kairo is directly inspired by Warhammer 40k's Imperial Commissar. The outfit, and combat style and the scars he's earned fighting disassembly drone.

In my original draft, he was actually the one who A would kill for sabotage before I gave Oren that role. When I wrote Kairo meeting the group, I made him too friendly and too respectable and ended up not wanting to have A killing him.
