Nora's Magical Mystery

Ch. 1 | Planning A Vacation

The story begins one bright and early morning in the city of New York, where a young wizard was sitting inside at a local cafe and he appeared to be waiting for someone. His name is Douxie.

He looked down at his bracelet as the time of day was suddenly projected from it. He sighed as the person he was waiting for was running a little late.

"Bloody hell. . . why does he have to be late?" Douxie said with a sigh. "I wonder what's keeping him."

"Don't worry, darling." A calm, gentle voice suddenly said. "I never mean to keep you waiting."

Douxie looked over and smiled as a young man walked up to him. He has blonde hair and brown eyes. His name is Carter Howard.

"Ah, Carter! There you are." Douxie said as he stood up and hugged the blonde haired boy. "You're five minutes late for our meet-up."

"Please, it's not that bad." Carter scoffed. "Besides, you made me come here bright and early all the way from Manhattan."

"That's not too bad, is it?" Douxie asked.

"On a bus!" Carter said, slightly angry.

"Well, sorry about that." Douxie said. "But I wanted to see you. And also, it's the summertime. And I thought it would be fun to plan something for us to do together."

"Well, that doesn't sound too bad." Carter said with a small smile. "And. . . maybe I wanted to see you too, Doux."

"I know you did." Douxie said with a smirk.

"Damn, where did all the time go?" Carter said with a sigh. "Anyway, what did you have planned?"

"Oh, that's what I wanted to discuss." Douxie said. "I was hoping that you'd already have something in mind?"

"You expect me to have even a concept of a plan when you called me last minute to catch a bus over here?" Carter asked, feeling slightly annoyed. "That's outrageous."

"No, you're right about that." Douxie said. "How about we discuss this over breakfast?"

"Seeing as how you wanted me here as early as possible, I didn't even get to eat yet." Carter said. "So yeah. I'm gonna want to eat something here."

"Alright, after you." Douxie said, as he held the door open for Carter.

Carter smiled as he went inside the cafe, followed by Douxie.

"So, what's up?" Carter asked. "Where do we start with the ideas?"

"Well. . . first of all, I was hoping that we could also include some of our friends from Arcadia." Douxie said. "As well as my sisters and brother."

"I see." Carter said. "That would be fine by me. I like them, so they can we go where we do."

"Cool." Douxie said.

"So, are we going to just vacation in Arcadia?" Carter asked.

"Well, that would be the easiest thing to do." Douxie said. "But I was thinking we can go and vacation over on The Dark Isles."

"Oh, you mean that island that you mentioned your sister rules over?" Carter asked. "I'd love to visit there. And this summer seems like the perfect time to do that."

"Nice, because I'd love for you to see it." Douxie said with a smile. "It's such a beautiful place. I think you'll love it."

"So, it's time to go ahead and start planning this vacation, right?" Carter asked.

"Yeah, I should probably go over there and talk things over with Lily." Douxie said. "You want to go with me?"

"Sure." Carter said with a smile.

"Alright, let's get going then." Douxie said.

At that moment, a shadow portal suddenly opened up as Douxie smirked.

"Seems she has heard our call." Douxie said.

"Oh. . ." Carter said.

After they went through the portal, they instantly appeared on an island. It was a magical place known as The Dark Isles.

"Welcome to The Dark Isles, Carter." Douxie said with a smile on his face. "And that. . . is the castle. Where me and my sister were born."

"Wow. . . it's amazing." Carter said in awe.

At that moment, a young looking woman came through the doors and smiled when she saw Douxie and Carter. Her name is Hopelily Casperan. Or Lily for short.

"Hello, bro." Hopelily said with a smile. "I'm glad you could stop by for a visit. What brings you here?"

"Me and Carter are going to host a special get-together with our friends from Arcadia." Douxie said. "As well as Nora and Jake."

"Ooh, a summer party?!" Hopelily said as she bounced excitedly. "Sounds fun!"

"Yeah and we're hoping you'd let us host it here?" Douxie asked.

"Of course I will!" Happily said with a smile. "Heck, I'll even help the preparations! This is gonna be so much fun!"

Suddenly, Carter groaned in pain as he suddenly clutched his head.

"Carter, what's wrong?" Douxie asked.

"My head. . . it hurts all of a sudden." Carter said. "Damn. . . migraine!"

Carter's eyes then suddenly went wide as he turned towards a random direction.

"Huh. . . now that I think about it, I am feeling kind of a headache myself." Douxie said. "But I'm sure it's nothing."

"Yeah, it could just be that its really cold out right now." Hopelily said. "But let's get this party started! Or prepared for."

"Let's do this, Carter." Douxie said.

Carter then snapped back to reality as he looked back at Douxie.

"Oh, yeah. Let's do this." Carter said with a smile on his face.

With that, the three of them began to talk about their plans for summer fun on the island. From the sound of it, they were about to have a lot of fun.

However, something would soon show up that would put the whole island in a bit of a problem for everyone. Especially once it starts to affect them in negative ways.
