Missing Keys

Chapter 8

Eren frowned and told him to continue."Yeah I know your friend. What about him?" He answered and Armin took in a deep breath. He started to shake even more. "Nev-never mind.... It's not im-portant." He stammered.

Bullshit...

Without a second thought in his mind Eren pulled Armin into his chest and wrapped his Armin's around him. He tensed up for a second but then melted into Eren and stopped shaking. Eren putted his lips up to Armin's ear and whispered, "Tell me what's wrong."

Then Eren realized what he was doing, his face felt hot but luckily for him Armin couldn't see him.

"It's a long story..." Armin replied

"I have the time."

And so Armin started to tell Eren about him going to Trost and what happened.

"In the end... Jean kissed me and I may have kissed him back... On the first day back here I told Annie that I was bi and then things happened, in the end she hasn't spoken to me in the past... Two days."

Eren! Do you know what this means!

What does this mean?

That we have a chance with him!

Eren this isn't the time! He's upset...

"So you're upset over Annie?" Eren cooed while holding onto Armin. He readjusted himself onto his side, having one arm draped on top of Armin that kept him close. Armin nodded, "Yeah... That doesn't bother you does it?"

"What does?"

"Me being... You know..."

Eren caught on. "It doesn't bother me at all, I just wish that I was the first to know that you liked kissing both girls and guys."

"Well it's not every day you ask someone: hey what's your favourite colour and do you like kissing guys or girls?"

"True."

"Eren."

"Yeah?"

"What's your favourite colour?"

"Green."

"Do you like kissing guys or girls."

"Guys."

They stayed silent for awhile and Eren started to tense up, he thought he fucked up but then...

"Please tell I'm not the only one who thought Jim Carrey looked good in Bruce Almighty."

Holly shit...

He's right.

Oh my god.

"You're not the only one." He replied and Armin quietly laughed. He nuzzled closer into Eren's side and melted into him. "I miss this..." He said and letted out a sigh. Eren tilted his head, "What did you miss?" He asked.

"I missed doing this... With you."

"Mhmm... Hey Armin?"

"Yeah?"

"What are you thinking about?"

"I don't know... Nothing?"

"The great Armin Arlert has nothing on his mind!" Eren pretended to be amazed which earned him a laugh. "What does the amazing Eren Yeager have on his mind then?"

"I don't know, I'm just kinda thinking about how I missed talking to you this."

"That sounded cheesy coming from you."

"I have my moments Mr. Arlert"

"You sure do, Mr. Yeager"

On Monday Eren went back to school feeling less alone. Knowing that at the end of the day he would get to see Armin again. Armin and Annie still were together but Annie kept some distance for awhile which Armin understood. Life stared to get a bit more colourful in Eren's eyes.

Armin came back on Thursday. He came along with the news of a break up and some chocolate.

To make Armin feel better Eren and him watched all the Jim Carrey movies he had. The two of them fell asleep half way through Dumb and Dumber.

"Eren..." Armin whispered and shook Eren awake.

For the first time Eren woke up to something he wanted.

"What time is it?" He asked and looked over at the turned off tv. Eren looked over to his nightstand and check the phone that was off the stand.

"It's... 2 am." He murmured. Eren Sat up and looked out the window. It was raining and thunder boomed through the sky which caused Armin to yelp. "I think the power went out." He said while trying to turn on him lamp "Well that would make sense on why the tv is off." Armin mumbled and sat up.

It was pitch black in the room and there were no lights on outside. Eren had a hard time seeing Armin. Lighting stroll and for a second Eren caught a glimpse of Armin. Bed head with sleepy eyes.

Cute.

heat rushed to Eren's face. He tends to blush a lot around Armin a lot more. Eren thought it was a good thing that he didn't notice.

Thunder boomed through the sky and Armin laid back down onto the mattress. "Eren lay back down. We have school tomorrow." He said and tugged on the hem of Eren's shirt. Without arguing Eren laid back down and Armin moved in closer toward Eren, putting the blanket over top of them. Eren nuzzled this nose into the crown of the blonds head, he smelt like icing sugar.

"God night, Armin."

"Night."

On Friday Eren sat against the window in the piano room. He saw Armin's bus drove by an hour ago but Armin still hasn't arrived to his house. Eren knew that if something came up Armin would have called to say that he wouldn't be coming over.

He sighed and rested his head against the cold window. In the corner of his eye he say Armin walking but Eren soon realized that he was limping. He pounded his fist onto the window and caught Armin's attention.

Shit...

Eren bolted out of the room and ran down the stairs and hurried outside. "Armin!" He called and went to the blonds side. Armin kept his head down and avoided eye contact.

"Look at me."

"Snow will get in my eyes if I look up..."

"Armin, it's not even snowing. Look at me."

Armin groaned and shied away. "Don't worry about it." He murmured and tried to walk past the brunet. Eren reached out and caught onto the sleeve of Armin's jacket and tugged him back toward him. He spun him around and placed his hands on his shoulders, Eren could feel him shaking underneath his hands.

"Look at me," He raised his voice "I want to know what's wrong or why you're hiding yourself from me!" The blond took in a deep breath and raised his head to look at Eren. Eren letted out a small gasp when he his face.

Blue bloodshot eyes stared back at him and droplets of water rolled down his face along with tears. His nose bled and the blood dripped down to his lips.

"C'mon... I'm taking you inside."
