17: Play Date

Up high, now down low. Shadows laugh and taunt 'too slow.'
Shadows smile and fly with glee, time to play games of three.
Neverland waits to claim a new friend. Lose all three, and it'll be your story's end.
Book still open, the end draws near.
It's just in sight, so have hope not fear.

3rd person pov:

Cheng's eyes glow gold as his sight is locked on the red thread in the air. Following fate until he hears a voice.

"Now that's not playing fair."

He then hears a snip of scissors and the thread starts to fray.

Cheng:"No, no no no!"

Just as he reaches for it, the thread of fate crumbles away and his eyes return to normal.

Cheng:"Damnit!"^ That was my only lead.^

As Cheng closes his eyes tight, and fists clenched tighter. A figure floats down from behind him.

Fei:"I can take you to him. Just win one game and you'll see Lu again. "

Cheng's teeth creek under presure of pure rage at hearing who spoke. Only for his lips to curve into a smile.

Cheng:"Alright,  I'll play. So what games are we playing?"

Fei's soft and gleeful smiles and he twirls in the air. What was once forest, now morphs into a vast field. On the other side of the field is a castle.

Fei:"We'll play three games. You only need to win one. If you win, I'll take you to the castle to see Lu. You'll also meet my boss. Where You'll then be able to free your friend."

Cheng's eyes widen with his smile, only for fei to hold up and index finger.

Fei:"However,  if I win... You'll join my lost boys and stay here forever."

Cheng doesn't think, and shakes fei's hand. Since the only thing on his mind is getting to Lu. At that moment, Fei smirks as the field morphs again. They find themselves on a playground track for running.

Fei:"Now, our first game... is red light, green light."

Both are at the start of the track. Cheng on the ground, while Fei floats.

Cheng:"Don't you want a fair game, or are you that afraid that I'll win? Cheating on a simple game as this, how pathetic. "

Cheng smirks and his eyes glance over to see Fei click his tungue. He then lands on his feet.

Cheng:"Alright, count us down when you're ready. "

Fei:"Shut up... you damn lier."

Cheng leans forward. Ready to take off like he's on a track and field team.

Fei:"3... 2... 1...... GO!"

Before Fei could take one step, Cheng had already taken five. Felix is stunned and grits his teeth. Even if he had taken flight now. He wouldn't have caught up. A lost boy shadow giggles at the halfway point.

"Reeed liiiight~"

Before 'red' was out of their mouth. Cheng slid like a baseball player, and stopped in perfect position to take off again.

Fei:^This time, I'll fly over and-^

"Gree-"

Cheng was off again and in moments, he had crossed the line. Hopping from left to right like a boxer, Cheng has pumped up.

Cheng:"Now take me to Lu."

Felix grits his teeth, only to stop and smile.

Fei:"That was a warm up. Now let's the real games... begin."
