He buried his face in his pillow, muffling a scream of frustration.
Fourth: (muffled) “What do I do? Should I let him prove it… or should I protect myself before he breaks me again?”
He stayed like that the whole night, tossing and turning, his heart at war with itself. By dawn, his decision was still unclear, but one thing was certain: Gemini’s words had rooted deep inside him, refusing to be ignored.
[Saint Gabriel University – Next Day, Morning]
The campus buzzed with life, students rushing to classes, the sound of laughter echoing in the halls.
Fourth walked slowly, his bag slung over one shoulder, his face tired from a sleepless night. His eyes scanned the hallway unconsciously — and there he was.
Gemini.
Leaning against the wall near their classroom, waiting. His posture was stiff, his eyes flicking nervously between the floor and every student passing by. But when his gaze found Fourth, his expression softened, hesitant yet hopeful.
Gemini: (quietly, almost afraid) “Fourth…”
Fourth stopped a few feet away. His heart clenched. The silence between them felt heavier than the noise of the entire hallway.
Gemini: (stepping closer, voice trembling) “Did you… did you think about what I said yesterday?”
Fourth’s lips pressed together. His fists curled at his sides. He could feel the eyes of other students around them, but in that moment, it felt like only Gemini existed in his world.
Fourth: (after a pause, whispering) “I thought about it all night.”
Gemini’s breath caught. He took another step closer, his eyes desperate.
Gemini: “And? What did you decide?”
Fourth’s gaze dropped to the floor. His throat tightened. He wanted to cry again, but he forced his voice to stay steady.
Fourth: (soft, trembling) “I’ll give you a chance.”
Gemini’s eyes widened. Relief flooded his features, his lips parting as if he couldn’t believe what he just heard.
Gemini: (hoarse, almost breaking) “You… you mean it? You’ll give me that chance?”
Fourth nodded slowly, his voice cold but fragile.
Fourth: “Yes. But…”
He lifted his eyes finally, meeting Gemini’s gaze head-on. His eyes were wet, sharp, filled with both pain and fire.
Fourth: (firmly) “It won’t be easy. If you want this chance, you’ll follow my rules.”
Gemini blinked, startled.
Gemini: (confused, hesitant) “Rules?”
Fourth: (nodding, steady) “Yes. I’ll write them down. And if you can follow them… then maybe, just maybe, this friendship will survive.”
Gemini’s heart pounded. He wanted to ask what the rules were, but the way Fourth’s voice trembled with control, the way his eyes glistened with warning, told him not to push too far.
Gemini: (softly, sincerely) “Then I’ll follow them. No matter what they are.”
Fourth stared at him, searching for even a single crack of insincerity. But all he saw was Gemini’s raw, desperate honesty.
His lips quivered. For the first time since yesterday, he allowed a small exhale, a tiny crack in his cold armor.
Fourth: (quiet, almost whispering) “We’ll see.”
He turned and walked past Gemini into the classroom. Gemini stood frozen in the hallway, his heart aching but hopeful.
For the first time, there was a door slightly open between them — guarded, fragile, but open.
And inside, Fourth’s unspoken rules waited, ready to decide the fate of their friendship.
