Danny's POV
As we arrived at the venue, I could see the excitement flickering in Xavier's eyes. His face lit up like a child on Christmas morning, and I felt a rush of happiness knowing I'd managed to make him genuinely smile.
We pushed through the crowd, and I gently took his hand, feeling the warmth of his fingers against mine.
I've been counting down the days, trying not to let my nerves show, even though inside I'm practically buzzing with excitement.
I really wanted to do something special for Xavier, a night that would show him how much I appreciate him, how much he means to me.
So after an amazing lunch date with Ada and Landon I planned this concert, after finding out how much he loves that band, that music that speaks to his soul.
*****Flashback****
I sat across from Ada and Landon at the trendy café they'd suggested-which I had later found out was Danny's favorite-, trying to play it cool as we ordered our lunch.
I'd been looking forward to this meetup all week, determined to get to know Xavy better through the eyes of his closest friends, I knew much about Xavy as Diego so I could ask him, and with Xavy and I sort of going out, I knew more than Diego, so it would be a lost cause asking him, that's why I chose to go to the only other people on earth who knew much about my man.
'My man?' Did I just...wow
As we waited for our food to arrive, Ada leaned in, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "So, Danny, what's going on? You've been spending a lot of time with Xavier lately. We're happy to see him happy, but we also want to make sure you're good for him, especially after curving him all these years." She rose one of her brows at me, I knew she was trying to look intimidating and it's lowkey working, I really want Xavy's best friends to like me.
I nodded, understanding their concern. "I totally get it. I hadn't been the kindest to Xavy concerning his feelings, but I'm really into Xavy, and I care about him a lot. I want to make sure I can be there for him in the way he needs, I want to show him that him picking me wasn't a mistake."
Landon leaned back in his chair, his expression thoughtful. "We've known Xavier for a long time, and he's been through some tough stuff. He's a great guy, and we just want to make sure he's with someone who treats him right."
I smiled, feeling a sense of respect for their loyalty to Xavier. "I can understand that. I've really enjoyed getting to know him better, and I think he's an amazing person. I'd love to learn more about him from you two, if you're willing to share." That got both of them to smile.
As we chatted, Ada and Landon opened up about Xavy's quirks, his passions, and his values.
I listened intently, soaking up every detail like a sponge. They talked about his love for music, his sense of humor, and his compassion for others. The more they shared, the more I realized how much I admired Xavy's unique spirit.
As our lunch drew to a close, Ada's expression turned serious. "Danny, look we can see you're really into Xavier. But we need to make one thing clear, if you hurt him, you'll have to answer to us. We're not kidding around."
Landon nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we've got Xavier's back, and we won't hesitate to step in if we think you're not treating him right."
I nodded, feeling a sense of understanding and respect for their warning. "I wouldn't expect anything less. I care about Xavy deeply, and I promise to do my best to make him happy."
