The world hadn't changed in ten years—not in the ways that mattered. Calling it hell was too soft, too forgiving. No... this was a nightmare carved into reality, one that refused to end. No amount of arguing could convince Mitchell otherwise.

His breath came in thin clouds of frost as he scanned the ruins of the city. Buildings sagged like broken bones, windows shattered into jagged mouths that gaped into darkness. The scarf around his neck muffled the wind, but not the silence. Silence always lingered—heavy, suffocating.

Sometimes it felt as if the world itself had forgotten him and the others who still clung to survival. No reinforcements, no weapons, no relief. Nothing. Just another day of scraping by. Not that it would change much, he thought bitterly, fingers tightening on the cold steel of his rifle.

Behind him, a small band of weary faces waited for his word. Survivors. Family, in a sense. People who hadn't given up yet. Mitchell's voice cut through the stillness:

"Squad, move out. Keep it quiet. Lights off—they'll still find us in the dark if we're careless. Remember, they can't climb. Use that."

The group stirred, tightening their grips on what little they carried. Mitchell slung his sniper rifle across his shoulder and motioned forward. He knew that everything could change the moment they reached the drop site—if the supplies were still there. If hope hadn't already rotted away with the rest of the world.

" outside this building is not pretty neither is death as their is no death " mitchell stated before silently and swiftly making his way down the streets back to the main survivor base or as most call it the base of operations for one main reason. The base has the only sole working radio and are able to communicate with the outside world keeping up the hope of the others in base, the ending is near neither is losing the fight or hope has been lost... No it wouldnt be like that not for a million years...

mitchel sighted as he got to his feet knowing that ending a fight like that wont stop any time soon but he sighted knowing that ending on such terms be dangerous he turned to two of his men, " mary go to the right side of the building and spread out with amber while kyle and jackson take the left side i shall take the front side and remember do not use guns unless need be and make for the love of our king make sure its silenced! " he'd call over his shoulder before taking off without taking time.

Kyle's pov :

Kyle followed after jackson in silence before he spoke up to his companion " you know these zombies...are tiring me out im done with them.. " jackson sighted as well knowing its one way never ending cycle " no doubt about that...after all its us we need to worry for..ugh just check the points so we are done here soon " he said as he got to work Kyle followed after jackson eyes warm and gentle,

knowing what might come next jackson kept his gun up and alert-
