The TV blared as you watched your favourite programme, smiling as you did before you were interrupted by a knock at the door.

Turning the TV's volume down, you stood up, heading towards the door.

"Who is it?" You called, warily.

It was dark outside and the only person who would come and see you often, was your best friend Harry, but he didn't usually turn up without calling or texting you first.

"It's Harry." Harry answered and you unlocked the door, letting him in before locking it again.

"Hi, could we talk?" He asked, his eyes holding a look of hope, fear and nervousness. Something you hadn't seen so strongly expressed before.

"Yeah, of course." You replied as he entered your living room, sitting down on the sofa.

"I'm sorry that I interrupted your favourite programme, I know you love it." He sighed, shaking his head.

"I'm sorry, I've come at a time when your busy, we can talk another time." He said, nervously as he began to stand up.

"Hey, it's okay. I can watch it on catch up anyway, sit down." You said, furrowing your eyebrows in confusion.

You hadn't seen him look so nervous in the last year that you had been friends and it worried you.

He reluctantly sat back down, placing his hand on your knee as he sat close to you, his breathing fanning over your face.

"Maybe this isn't such a good idea. Your most likely not going to like what we talk about." He sighed, gripping my knee gently, but firmly as his eyes shut closed tightly.

"Harry, what's gotten you so upset?" You asked, concerned.

"Your my best friend, whatever you want to say, I'll listen." You reassured him and he groaned, his eyes opening as he looked at you intently.

"Exactly, were best friends. That's all we are and I can't do this anymore,
Y/N. I want to be with you as more than friends and I wanted to tell you. I can take rejection, even though I have feelings for you, I can take it." He said, his sudden outburst surprising you as your eyes widened.

"Please, say something. I can't take it anymore." He said, frustratedly tugging on his hair and you grabbed his hands, pulling them away from his hair.

"Why didn't you say something before?" You asked and he looked at you, stopping his frustrated actions and staring at you, his eyes looking into yours, searching for some kind of emotion.

"W-well I-I didn't think you would want to know that your best friend has feelings for you when you don't feel the same." He stammered.

"You don't know how I feel." You scoffed.

"You don't know that I don't like you, I could be madly in love with you for all you know." You said, moving away from him on the sofa.

You were in love with him and having to meet up with him as friends and nothing more had upset you, but you hadn't thought he would ever like you, so you didn't say anything.

"No please, don't move away from me." He pleaded, reaching his hand out for yours as he held it out for you.

You placed your hand in his and he intertwined his fingers with yours, curling them around your fingers tightly, as if not to let go, as he gave you a soft smile.

"What do you feel for me?" He asked, softly, his thumb caressing over your knuckles and you felt butterflies in your stomach at his gentle, loving gesture.

"I-I don't feel comfortable talking about it." You said, looking away from his gaze.

"Why? It's me your talking to, you know me, you might even love me for all I know." He said and you looked up at him to see a smile on his lips, his green eyes holding a look of excitement and hope.

"Because I didn't expect to be confronted about my feelings towards you, especially not like this." You replied.

"So you do have feelings for me?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

You stayed silent, wanting to admit your feelings, but feeling shy about it.

He sighed, squeezing your hand gently as he rubbed his thumb over your knuckles again, comfortingly.

"If you don't want me, that's okay. I can take rejection." He mumbled, kissing your hand, intertwined with his.

"I didn't say that." You spoke up.

"No, you didn't say anything, which is what worries me in case you don't want me. Please, tell me how you feel about me." He explained, pleadingly.

"Okay. I do love you and I have done for a while now, but I never knew you had any feelings towards me, so I didn't say anything." You answered.

He smiled, pulling your intertwined hands to rest in his lap.

"I really do love you too, baby." He whispered, his nickname for you making the butterflies in your stomach fly around again.

"Having feelings for me and loving me are different." You stated and he licked his bottom lip, gingerly, shaking his head.

"I didn't want to scare you off completely by saying I loved you. I was adamant that you didn't feel the same, so I thought if I said I had feelings for you, I might have a chance at getting a date with you." He explained and you smiled, letting out a small giggle as you blushed.

"You do?" You asked and he nodded.

"How could I love anyone else? My mind is focused on you, nearly twenty-four seven." He laughed.

"That's sweet of you." You smiled and he leaned in to kiss your forehead.

"You know what else is going to be sweet?" He asked and you shook your head slightly, keeping your gaze fixated on Harry.

"When I get to share kisses with you, but I understand that might not be yet. So for now, can we cuddle?" He asked.

"We can." You smiled as he turned the TV up and you both leaned into each other to watch TV.

"It feels weird to be cuddling with you, we usually sit next to each other, so this is quite strange." You admitted and he rested his head on your shoulder.

"It does, but I love it. Your the only person that's been on my mind for so long. I didn't want to be with anyone else because you make me feel a certain way and I love you." He answered.

"I love you too." You replied and he grinned, his warm lips pressing against your neck in a gentle kiss and goosebumps appeared on your skin at his warm touch.

The sudden change between going from a friendship to a relationship was going to take some time to get used to, but you already felt comfortable with Harry. He's the kindest, loveliest most amazing person you could've wanted to meet.
