The florist shop smelled of jasmine that afternoon.
YN was halfway through wrapping a bouquet when the bell above the door chimed.
“Welcome—”
Her voice faltered.
It was him.
Moon Baek.
The man didn’t bother pretending to browse. He stepped right to the counter, his gaze sweeping over her hands as they tied the ribbon.
“You work here too?” His tone carried something like amusement.
Or maybe… victory.
She forced a polite smile. “Part-time.”
He leaned on the counter just enough to shorten the space between them. “I like lilies,” he said casually, eyes locking on hers. “Can you wrap ten for me?”
YN nodded, wordless. Her fingers moved on instinct, but every movement felt too loud in the small shop.
When she handed him the bouquet, his hand brushed hers — deliberate, slow.
“Perfect,” he murmured. “You have good taste.”

Two days later, YN was at the library shelving returns. A small voice called from the reading corner.
“noona!”
Eunwoo.
She frowned — he was supposed to be at school.
And then she saw him.
Moon Baek, sitting at a low table, flipping through a book with Eunwoo.
Her pulse spiked. She walked over quickly. “Eunwoo, what are you—”
“He was outside my school!” Eunwoo grinned. “He said he knows you, so he bought me ice cream!”
Moon Baek looked up at her, his smile smooth as glass.
“You didn’t tell me you had a brother,” he said softly, as though this was a casual reunion.
YN’s throat tightened. “Why are you—”
“Relax.” He closed the book and stood, his height suddenly overwhelming in the small space.
“I’m just… getting to know the people important to you.”
The way he said it made her skin prickle.
---
By the end of the week, he’d shown up at the library twice, the florist shop once, and — somehow — at the small convenience store near her apartment when she was buying groceries.
Always with a reason.
Always smiling.
Always there.
Eunwoo liked him. That was the worst part.
To her brother, Moon Baek was the cool hyung who told funny stories and remembered his favorite candy.
But YN knew better.
Or at least, she was starting to.
