Thin Walls

"Remember, Seia darling, you're transferred here to start anew. Don't mess this one up." She said while looking around. Napayuko naman ako sa narinig ko. I know she meant no harm but knowing the reason why I have to move here makes me understand why she said that.

"Yes, Auntie." I responded. I put down my luggage for a while and roamed my eyes around. Para akong nasa hotel. This school really lives up to their reputation.

Hmm, Evergreen Academy. Supposedly an all girl's school. I don't know how they all got in but I don't mind. I don't know how I got in either lalo na't nagstart na ang semester a few weeks ago. Maybe Auntie had to pull some strings again.

"Now, make us all proud. Especially your mom. We all used to go here and it seems like a lot has changed. That only means new adventures for you, pea!" She said excitingly. I smiled at her. Uhh, new adventures? Let's see about that.

"Yes po. I won't disappoint you this time." I simply responded. I smiled at her and she smiled back. She's trying not to cry but I know she's about to, any moment now.
"I know, darling. Now go upstairs and fix your stuff. I'll be heading out now." She kissed the top of my head and hugged me tight. I hugged her back. I can feel she's gonna miss me.

Kami na lang dalawa magkasama ni Auntie Cecil after my mom died unexpectedly years ago. She's like a mom to me and she treated me like her own daughter. I know it's hard for her to send me here but she doesn't have a choice and neither do I.

I bowed down at her and watched her enter our family car. I waved at her and she waved back. She blew a kiss at me before closing the window and drove off.

I looked up at the staircase and took a deep breath before climbing up. Hindi naman nagtagal at nakarating na ako agad sa room ko. My room's located at the left side end of the hallway of the second floor. I specifically picked this certain room and residence. Bukod sa mas may privacy at mas tahimik kapag dito, this is where my mom used to stay during her time.

She was a Maple Residence girly while Auntie Cecil was at Sequoia Residence which happened to be at the other side of the school. I remember how she always told me stories about her shenanigans across this Residence, specifically this floor. I feel like I'm carrying a big piece of her just by staying at her own safe space.

I put my luggage down and roamed my eyes around my place. It looks like a fancy hotel suite. Bubungad na pagkapasok ang mini kitchen and sink. I also have my own bathroom on the right side at the corner. I also have my own queen-sized bed that's comfortable enough to sleep in. This whole room is spacious enough for me at mukha pa ngang kakasya pa ang limang Seia dito. It's like living in my own condo unit within the school premises. This school is really interesting and lives up to the elite expectations.

After exploring my own room, I decided to explore our floor. Lumabas muna ako sa kwarto to roam around. Bumungad sa akin ang mga taong sunud-sunod na pumapasok sa katabing unit. I jolted as loud music started playing. Oh, they're having a party? Pwede pala dito 'yon?

"Hi! Are you new here?" I heard someone say from behind as I was walking back to my unit. I turned around and saw a girl wearing the brightest smile. Baka isa sa mga boarders sa floor na 'to.
"Yes, kararating ko lang a few minutes ago. I'm Seia Martinez. You?" I said while reaching out my hand. She smiled and shook my hand.
"I'm Amber Soriano. Ako 'yong nasa room 101 malapit sa stairs. I'm also the floor manager." She said while pointing to the direction of her room. I nodded lang and tried to roam my eyes around. May mga ilang students na lumabas sa rooms nila. Mas umiingay na rin sa hallway right now kasabay pa mg loud music ng kapitbahay ko. I looked at Amber who's currently examining my whole being. When our eyes met, she just smiled.

"I hope you like it here, Seia. The girls are definitely gonna like you here." Napakunot naman ako ng noo. What does she mean by that? Is it a good thing for them to like me? "I gotta go! Nice meeting you, Seia!" She said and waved at me before leaving.
