Chapter 10: Charms Class

Professor Ronen reached out his hand to Lucy, the book instantly flying to his grasp. Natty had the same look of embarrassment now. It made matters even worse when her eyes locked again with Sebastian's, his smirk returning.

"Hmm! Oh my. The summer months must have really taken a toll on you all," Professor Ronen chuckles to himself, "By the looks of it, you all spent your holidays practicing Obliviate on one another!"

Professor Ronen laughed to himself, Poppy turned to Sebastian, chuckling with him. Lucy's eyes flicked to the Blonde boy's movements right then, it almost looked like he winced at what Professor Ronen said. Just then, Sebastian's eyes followed hers to the Blonde boy, confusion on his face.

Professor Ronen still clutched Natty's book in his hands, "Do you all even remember how to perform a basic summoning charm? Hmm?"

Professor Ronen searched around the room, the class still silent while he rocked back and forward on his heels.

"Hmm. Well, it seems that we are in dire need of review! Everyone, get into pairs and take positions on opposite sides of the classroom."

Lucy turned to Natty right away, but she could feel Sebastian's eyes still on her.

"Now! Let's put those textbooks to use as the blunt objects you so believe they are and take turns summoning them out of one another's hands with the spell Accio!"

Professor Ronen tossed Natty's book back to her with his magic, landing lightly in her hands.

Samantha started frantically looking around her desk, "Only one book will be needed per partnership, Miss Dale. Thank you. Get into place now!"

His enthusiasm revived the room as the students rushed to their partners, chatting amongst their peers. Natty stood up, walking down the stairs and crossing the room. Lucy followed, stopping at the last step.. Professor Ronen stood in the middle, a grin spread on his face in excitement.

Natty held the book in her hands, nodding to Lucy for permission to go first. Lucy took out the second hand wand from the pocket of her robe and pointed at Natty.

"Accio!"

The book forcefully pulled away from Natty, rushing to Lucy's hands.

Natty clapped, smiling, "That is not bad!"

Professor Ronen put his hands on his hips, his face full of fascination at Lucy, "You are a swift learner! I see a lot of potential, but remember, nothing is without practice. Keep at it and you just might rival Miss Onai here!"

Natty smirked at Lucy.

"Very good everyone! That's enough of that. Well, as you all seem to have the basics down, and it is an exceptionally lovely day. I was thinking that we might have ourselves a little excursion outside for a spot of fresh air," Professor Ronen clapped his hands, walking back to the entrance of the classroom, "After me."

Shoes shuffled on the floor as they all crowded together, following after Professor Ronen. They went down the floor of stairs, back the way Lucy had come from the Transfiguration Courtyard. She walked alongside Natty, who was chatting with Poppy about some news going on in the Wizarding World. Lucy tried to keep up with the conversation when she heard the familiar word of Poachers, but then they continued in topics of magical beasts and she zoned out. They were one of the last groups walking behind Professor Ronen's class.

Sebastian and the Blonde boy walked up front, smiling about something interesting. The Blonde boy held up his wand, the tip glowing red as they walked together in deep conversation. Just then, Sebastian quickly turned his head over his shoulder to look back at her while walking, her heart began pounding again. The class walked across the courtyard and through double doors again. The North Hall was a lot smaller than Central Hall. Lucy remembered this room from when she first arrived last night, it was statues of Knights in armor guarding the school. She still shivered at the memory of the armored statues that attacked her in the vault.
