As I stepped out of his car, I finally released the breath I'd been holding for so long.
He hadn't spoken much, but I could sense it—his expressions told me he was reliving something.

I exhaled deeply just as a familiar voice reached my ears.

"Ishu!"

I turned around to see Bhaiya. He looked scared—really scared.

"Where were you, Isha? Where was your phone?! Couldn't you just answer one call? I've been going crazy worrying about you!" he shouted.

I flinched.

Without thinking, I rushed to him and pulled him into a tight hug.

"I–I'm s-sorry, Bhaiya. I didn't mean to scare you," I whispered, tears streaming down my face.

And he saw it.
The way I flinched.
The way I cried.
The very things that hurt him the most.

"No, bacha... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have shouted. It's just that I thought I..."He trailed off, gently stroking my hair.

Rudraksh Advani, the man who could face demons, rivals, even wild animals—could never bear the thought of losing his little sister.

"I can fight anything... anyone. But not the fear of losing you. You came late and I panicked..."
He sighed and pressed a kiss to my forehead.
"You're all I have, little volcano."

A tear reached my face when I realised he is crying
"Bhaiya! Are y-you crying—please don't cry!"

He gently pulled away and diverted his gaze to hide his tears...

"No" he fake chuckled "I am not crying little volcano– its just your eyes" he said looking around the house but not me

"Bhaiya.." I started but he cut me off saying "Why are you late ?!"

"Its nothing like that bhaiya–"

"Ohh then what is it like?! Would you care to explain–Miss Isha Advani?!"he looked damn serious

"It's just first day toh little work pressure that's all" I said trying to brush off the topic.

"Work pressure on your first day?! There should be orientations, meetings and instead of that they're giving work pressure also to an intern on the first of work?!" Nevermind I think he's gonna sue them with his anger.

"Bhaiya you need to chill first, maybe some chilled water? And also it's nothing like that, you know na decoding takes time? Those files were a mess and they needed urgent treatment, that's all" I tried explaining hoping that he wouldn't start his lecture.

His looked at me–blinked twice, took a long deep breath and said " But isha"

I cut him off saying "There is no but's bhaiya–it happens, sometimes things take time and maybe the company needed me , because I could see how cluttered those files were and–it's completely okay hmm?"
