"You're going to miss the most in
life if you keep clinging to the
past" He so often told me. "I know," I
wanted to respond, "I know that I am
missing out on life and I know that
this is not alright, but holding on to
these pitifully beautiful and broken
memories are the only way that I
know how to hold on to the people I've
lost along with them. Memories don't
fade away but people do." It took me
a while to gather the exact words that I
needed to say but by the time I got
my sentence right, you had faded into
a memory as well.
