Beneath The Binding

Part 1 : Chapter 5

   Damon, stunned, then pushes Niko back off of him and stares for quite some time. Finally, Niko says wide eyed, stuttering, "S-sorry Damon, let's just head back now." They both head through the damp hallway, which smelled more intense than last time with the heavy tension hanging over the 2 as well. When they finally get back, Damon reaches to fix the painting, and they continue their little journey back to the west side of the kingdom, and when they finally come back to their house, which are next to each other, they turn and stare at each other for a few seconds. 

After Niko gets tired of the silence, he starts walking into the mansion then turns and mumbles, "I'm sorry but I can't help but catch feelings for you." 

Damon, being lost in his thoughts once again, asks "What was that Niko?" 

Niko replies fast and frantically without turning around, "Huh?! O-oh, nothing! I just said I can't help but..." He paused, trying to find a good excuse to his undeniable comment, but just tried to shrug it off by finishing it with, "fetch feathers for Yonu! Yea, Yonu wanted some feathers...fetched..." 

   Niko was beyond nervous but also felt calmed as long as he was with Damon. Of course Damon didn't believe the made up obvious lie, but continued on inside. "Good night Niko...also," 

Damon paused, debating whether or not to announce his true feelings to and continues to say, "I like you too." Niko, surprised, lights up in the eyes and right before Damon enters the backdoor, he pulls Damon inside the Blackwood household, gripping tightly with excitement. Curious, Damon politely follows not pushing away and with a heavy pink dusting his cheeks and ears. "W-where are we going?" Damon asks. "To my room, let's have a sleepover!" Niko replies quietly in a whisper. Damon, not even more confused, asks another question, "So then, why are we in the kitchen's wine closet?"

Niko, with a bottle of wine, rum and 2 shot glasses quickly scurries up the spiral stairs, down the 2 rows of hallways, and past 3 guards on the way, ends his little adventure at a door that has a sign bolded saying 'Niko's - DO NOT ENTER! Without knocking please!' and a smiley face finishing it off. "Are you sure more alcohol is the best decision Niko?" Damon reasonably says in a low smirk, trying to laugh it off but a little concerned. "Of course! Now c'mon, get into something comfy and let's get this 2 person party started!"

What the 2 didn't know was that this one bottle of wine and rum, a room to themselves, and a chair would change everything.
