How did we get here...I never thought it would go this far, and yet...it feels so good.
Current time, 645 AD at the wealthiest shopping center for magic. Shall I introduce you to the 2 most famous families in the world, or perhaps infamous families? Meet the Blackwoods and Hawthornes. As to who I am? No need to concern yourselves about that readers, shall we begin the story; beneath the binding.
"Aeson...it's a girl! Congratulations!" the midwife declares. Kirah has just given birth to a daughter, our protagonist, "Nika! Can we call her that, please Aeson?" Aeson paused, giving a look of disgust before commanding with a low voice, one that could scare even the strongest of souls, "lock the doors, no one will leave or enter this room. Understood?" Kirah, understanding of what is to happen sighed and held her baby close, a sweet innocent girl, knowing soon that she must change her whole reality. 4 years have passed and Nika, now Niko, is a healthy biological girl, however in this world, it can't always be the healthiest. "Momma!! Momma!!! Look at me, I can make this float! Momma you're not looking!" Niko tried his hardest to get any attention, switching from good to bad attention goals. Notice how I changed to he/him pronouns? Remember this, let's continue. "Aren't I so cool Momma!!" Niko asked, desperate for his mother to notice him, to see his skill. In this world there are dreams and magic, here, kid's fantasies aren't limited to "realistic ideals", for once kids and adults can dream, and pursue even bigger things. Objects can have small traces of magic or power that control different aspects of the user, like if you give a soldier a sword, it's good for fighting, but add some magic and make it a gun, the soldier is sure to win any sword fight. Magic is infused in non-living objects, and as far as the people know, can't be infused in any living being, or so they think for now.

"Momma! I told you, I'm Niko! And I don't think drinking is good for little Selene!"
"what a party-pooper Nika- i mean Niko! She'll be fine!"
"Well you're not doing fine..." Another year passes, and from the moment his sister was born, Niko began to always take care and look after his little sister. Currently, the 2 richest families, as I said, are the Blackwoods and Hawthornes, and how they became infamous, you'll soon find out.
