You and Miko were waiting outside after school, well you were waiting for her. She was sitting cross-legged on a wall, sketchpad on her lap. She was drawing this blue motorcycle that was parked in front of you. You looked around, wondering if anyone was walking towards it or if you could see the owner anywhere.

Nobody. Huh. That's weird.

You saw the guy who worked at KO Burgers though, talking to a kid. Wait that sounds weird. He wasn't really a kid, I mean he was in your school. He was just...young. The kid got into a yellow and black car. It looked...familiar for some reason. Same with the motorcycle.

Oh yeah! The news report!
Probably a coincidence.
Right?

You saw the other guy walk off, looking worried. You watched him walk off but then heard a noise of surprise from Miko.
''Where'd the bike go!?''

You turned back to face your friend and yes, the motorcycle had disappeared.
''Mm. I didn't hear anything... did anyone drive off with it?'' You wondered out loud, looking around again for the motorbike. You saw a blur of blue speed past where the other guy had walked off earlier.

''Oh, over ther-'' ''Let's go after it!'' Miko interrupted you, a grin on her face. She stood up, grabbing your arm.

''Miko- I can't. My host parents want me back home soon. You go and text me later, 'kay?'' You smiled, beginning to walk backwards in the direction of your house. She looked a bit disappointed but shrugged and waved, running off in the direction of the blue blur. You made your way to your host parents' house.

Your host parents had dinner ready when you got back, they were going out so they had put dinner on for you early. They were visiting a couple of friends and you didn't want to go so they didn't force you (woohoo!).

While eating your dinner you took out your phone, planning on calling Miko. You dialed her number...

But it went straight to voicemail.
Weird, huh? She always answered calls, especially yours.

You tried again, no answer.

Again,
again,
again,
another 30 times.

No. Answer.

You were getting worried, is she okay? She uses her phone a lot, why would it suddenly be turned off? Maybe it's dead, but she never really lets it die.

''Maybe she's dead.''

''What? No no no haha.''

''It's possible.''

NO.
She's okay, maybe her phone got taken? Yeah, her host parents are pretty strict so it wouldn't surprise you.

Yeah. That's why.

No. Other. Reason.

You sighed, trying to calm down your anxiety. What were those tricks your parents thought you? Deep breaths, something to fidget with all of that lovely stuff.

You had finished your dinner amidst the worrying and getting sent to voicemail. You made sure the rinse off your plate before placing it in the dishwasher.

DING!!

A notification? Is it Miko?

You checked your phone, hoping for some news from Miko-

No.

It's just a text telling you about some street race tomorrow.

Usually you'd love stuff like that but you weren't in the mood for a race, not after being worried about Miko. You texted back, telling them you wouldn't be going.
